13 weeks!

Nearly out of the first trimester! That's hard to believe. Overall, I'm doing ok. Last week was a good week, symptom-wise. I felt like I had a little more energy. Of course, I only worked about 16 hours, so that might have made a difference. But this past weekend I was not feeling well...no energy, felt pretty weak, headache, nausea. And this morning I threw up . Hopefully soon I'll be past this stage. Oh...and I started feeling flutters last night! Can't wait for kicks!

Not much else to report, other than that. Next week is my next appointment. Hopefully I'll get to schedule my level 2 scan, which will probably be around the end of November/beginning of December. Can't wait!

Oh good, it's not just me. I swear that I have been feeling the baby tumble around in there. I am 12 weeks 6 days pregnant today and it's my second pregnancy. I know you are supposed to feel the baby earlier the second time around... but this early?? It started right as I hit week 12. And it usually happens at night when I am relaxing on the couch at the end of the day. A couple of weeks ago, I awoke in the middle of the night and as I was laying in bed, I felt that oh-so-familiar popping of bubbles or popcorn popping feeling in my belly. I hope its the baby and not my mind running away with me.

14 weeks!

So I had my 14 week appointment today. It went well! I was expecting the standard pee-in-a-cup, Doppler, see you in a month visit, but since my MIL was with us, she did a quickie u/s! Way too early to tell the gender, but everything looked great. We saw 4 limbs, kicks & movement, and HR was 145. Everything was normal...I go back in 5 weeks. Oh, and I gained 5 lbs in the last 5 weeks. I'll have my level 2 scan and genetic counseling at 19-20 weeks, but the scheduler said she'll have to call me back to schedule it: rolleyes:. But it'll be the last week of Nov, most likely.

Pics:

Other than that, not much to report. Still having some vomiting here & there. Heartburn sometimes, and still some shortness of breath. I am starting to have trouble buttoning my pants...but my maternity pants from last time are still too big. I've been using a Bella band type thing and just not button my pants.

So far I've gained about 10 lbs. Not excited about that, but it could be worse.

Next appointment is Nov 26th at 19 weeks.

Hard to believe! Time sure is flying. So not a lot to report this week. I can no longer button my regular pants, and have been using a bella band-type thing to keep them up. I need to buy new maternity pants, since my old ones are too big in the hips/thighs.

I actually managed to work out on Friday night, and I did prenatal yoga on Saturday afternoon. I had not worked out in several weeks, so it actually felt good to do something (once I actually made myself do it). Hoping I can keep it up!

Nausea is still hanging around, but not too bad. Fatigue seems to be easing up some, but I still have my moments in the evenings sometimes.

Other than that, nothing new! Three weeks til my level 2 scan (Nov 19th)!

Not a whole lot new this week. I have been feeling movements, but still nothing consistent. Nausea seems to have eased up, and I've got more energy, so that's good! I've still been exercising a few times a week. Overall I've gained about 14 lbs. Still wearing regular clothes with a bella band.

Only two more weeks until my ultrasound! My birthday is coming up, and then Thanksgiving, Christmas, DH's birthday, New Years and Grace's birthday, so we're going to have a busy few months!

So I have really felt pregnant this past week. Nausea seems to be gone, but with my belly getting bigger, my back and tailbone are hurting more. But overall I feel pretty good!

Not much else new. No weight gain this week. I'm excited about our level 2 scan a week from today. Then my next appointment is in 2 weeks. If I ask Grace is she wants a brother or a sister, she says sister. Guess we'll find out soon enough!

18 weeks!

Today was my level 2 scan! Copied and pasted from the main board:

The clinic was apparently very busy today, so we waited for quite a while. I met with a genetic counselor first, just to go over basic risks for AMA patients. Then back to the waiting room to wait for an u/s room to open up.

The tech did the scan (honestly, she seemed very rushed, probably because they were backed up), and then a fellow wanted to get some practice doing scans, so she looked around for a while and took more pics. Then we had to wait for the high risk specialist to come in and review everything with us, and he did ANOTHER scan. So...yeah, it took a while. But everything looked perfect. Anterior placenta, no markers for Down's Syndrome or other chromosomal abnormalities, no visible structural abnormalities, etc. And...add us to team PINK!

Honestly we were both sort of in shock. We really thought this would be a boy. We're completely thrilled, although a tiny bit disappointed. I told my Jan 10 PR yesterday that I thought either way that I'd be very excited and a little disappointed, because I would love to have a son and I know DH wants a son, BUT...girls are really great, and I'd love for Grace to have a sister. So I think it's sinking in, and I am really happy! A lot less stuff for us to buy, also!

In other news, not much weight gain again this week. Maybe 1/2 a pound. Still feeling good, but having more tailbone pain, especially if I'm walking or standing a lot. Feeling a lot more movement these days, and even felt it last night from the outside, in spite of an anterior placenta. So I'm excited about that!

Next regular OB appointment is next Monday!

I had a regular OB appointment yesterday...pretty straightforward. BP is good, urine was good, I had gained 5lbs in 5 weeks, so right on track. We did all of the prenatal lab work, including the quad screen. Listened to the heartbeat...150. My OB is having a baby soon, so she will be out on maternity leave for my next couple of appointments. I'll go back in 5 weeks and I'll see an APN for that visit and the next one. So...boring appointment, but boring is good at this point!

We've now told all of our families that we're having a girl. Grace actually was the one to tell them that she's having a sister.

Not much else to report this week. At the moment things are going pretty well. I bought three pairs of maternity pants over the weekend...just about to the point that I really need them.

Can't believe I'm at 20 weeks already! Not a lot going on, pregnancy-wise, this week. Feeling pretty good, other than some tailbone pain, and mild hip pain. Feeling pretty consistent movement, and can even feel some kicks from the outside.

Up 16 lbs total so far. I'm ok with that. Doing better than I was at this point in my last pregnancy.

Other than that, we're just gearing up for Christmas & birthdays. Looking forward to lots of baking, decorating, Christmas cards, family, etc!

I guess I missed making an entry last week! Wasn't much to report anyway. Things are still going pretty well, and I'm still a little freaked out (but very happy) that this pregnancy has been so different from last time. I do still have tailbone pain, but overall I'm feeling pretty good. I've had some trouble sleeping in the past couple of weeks, and I think I'm coming down with whatever respiratory virus Grace brought home from daycare. But other than that, so far, so good.

I'm up two more pounds since two weeks ago, so I seem to be sticking to the one pound per week thing pretty well. It's crazy to me that I weighed more at my 10 week appointment last pregnancy than I do now. I'll take it, though! That may be one reason I don't have as many aches and pains yet as I did last time at this point.

Next appointment is January 2nd, with the APN. Looking forward to Christmas next week, and all of the family, food, & celebrations!

It's been a crazy week: Christmas, family in town, snow storm, power outages, and I've been sick. We did have a nice Christmas, though. Nothing really new on the pregnancy front...my next appointment is on Wednesday.

I think I'm at 19 lbs total gain so far. Still sticking to 1lb per week, so I guess that's good.

Had another routine appointment this week with an APN, since my OB is out on maternity leave. I had to do the 1hr OGTT, and I'm still waiting for the results of that. Otherwise, everything was fine...urine was good, BP normal, and weight still right on track at 1lb per week. The only thing she said was that I was "measuring small," although she didn't actually measure me. She just kind of estimated. She said nothing to worry about at this point, but they would keep an eye on it and do another ultrasound if necessary later. I go back in 4 weeks.

We took Grace to the appointment, and she was curious about everything, up until time to listen to the heartbeat...she got scared about that. I think she didn't like anybody messing with my tummy. She still talks about how the doctor squeezed my tummy, and asks if I'm ok. I don't remember if I posted this already, but the results of my quad screen came back fine--no cause for concern.

Otherwise...so far, so good. No real complaints at the moment. Next appointment is February 1st.

Moving right along! Not a whole lot new this week. I am still having some tailbone pain when walking. Appetite seems to have increased this week. I did finally make myself get back to working out and not eating junk all the time. Hopefully now that we're back to somewhat of a normal schedule, I can stay on track. So far, weight gain is still about 1lb per week, and I'm perfectly fine with that. I just want to stay as active as I can, so that maybe (hopefully) it's easier to get back to it after the baby is here.

Nothing else really to report this week. So far, so good!

I feel like in the past week or so, my belly has taken on a life of it's own LOL! It has become more difficult to get up off the couch, bend over, reach things on shelves, etc. Also, I think baby girl (who still does not have a name) has repositioned herself so that I'm feeling movement up in my ribs now. Overall I'm feeling pretty good still, though. No real complaints. I have been working out again, which feels good. I weigh about the same as last week.

I would like to start getting all of the baby things organized soon...but it'll have to wait until at least after this weekend (in-laws are going to be in town).

I can't think of much else. Grace talks about my belly a lot: she asks if I have a growing baby in my belly, and comments on how big it is . We've been trying to talk about things that will happen "when the baby comes out." She likes to say that the baby is going to come out and bring a bottle with her. I'm so excited and curious to see how that is all going to go!

Not a lot new. I've been having BH contractions here and there, but nothing concerning. Other than that...still the same tailbone pain, a few sleepless nights, etc. I did have some nausea last night, which was kind of out of nowhere. Hope that doesn't stick around. And heartburn today (guess those two could be related...especially since things are getting more crowded in there). Overall, still doing well.

Next appointment is next Friday. Should be pretty straightforward.

Had an appointment with the APN today (at 28w4d):
Gained 4 lbs in the past 4 weeks...
Urine was fine...
BP was normal...
HR was in the 140's...
Fundal height...she did not comment on it, but I'm assuming it was fine. Last appointment she said it was smaller than expected, so I guess it was on track this time.
I do have minimal swelling in my ankles. Nothing alarming at this point, especially considering all is well otherwise.

So all is good there. In the past week or so, I've had worsening hip/tailbone pain. Yoga seems to help some, temporarily, but I feel like maybe my hips are out of alignment or something. If it doesn't get better, I may try to find a chiropractor.

Definitely feeling lots of big movements, and my belly is getting bigger. Feeling more pregnant every day! I started washing and sorting Grace's old clothes, and I'm anxious to get everything set up for the new little one (who still, by the way, remains nameless).

Next appointment is in 3 weeks, with the APN again, and then I have another appointment 2 weeks after that with my OB, who will be back from maternity leave.

Still doing well for the most part. I've had more swelling This week, but overall less hip/back pain. And I think I'm up 0.5 lb since last week. Other than that, not a lot new. I do think we're pretty close to settling on a name.
