Wa alaikum salam,

I'm still trying to figure that out. I want to find a way to include Arabic which I'm horrible at. I know I'll have her read a couple of books that I have and make up worksheets for her. DS is still a bit young to really take interest and understand what's being said.

Actually Anna, your son is the best age to start it minimizes the frustration and difficulties later... just from 1 to another... my son is more frustrated now that he has to learn arabic instead of it being more natural from birth.

If you try a site like islamicbookstore.com they sell tutorial material and work books for learning arabic.

I plan to find a poster with the letters and start there, as well as the Islamic studies that they sell for children. However I am going to go to the store they have so I can see the material in front of me and make better choices.

That sounds good. I don't think DS has the attention span for it yet. Plus I think his not eating has affected his brain function. He used to be really advanced for his age, but now he's small and not meeting all of his milestones. I just hope it isn't anything that makes life difficult and he'll just have to study extra hard.

I'm sure he will catch up wonderfully once he can eat. Does he drink milk??? Cause Horizon (organic milk) now comes in a Omega 3s enhanced variety. Sometimes harder to find but awesome for his calories, vitamins and brain development. Just an idea. But I see what you mean... I am sure life will be easier for him once he gets those stinkin tonsils out. Poor GUY!!

Well with this new mosque inshAllah I will get some help with the arabic/ islamic studies part!

I really hope he'll be able to catch up. He's got his vitamins, but supplements just aren't as good as what you get from actual food. It doesn't absorb the same way.

DH still won't go to the mosque. He's afraid of what they'll think of him since they didn't know he left because he was so sick and bed-ridden. He doesn't want to go back and try to explain that and how he suddenly has a wife and 2.5 kids.
