Yesterday would be CD 1 since it was the first day you saw a real flow. I use midnight as the divider between days since the flow actually starts before you first see it. It has to pick up pace, it does some accumulating, etc. So say you first noticed it at 1pm, you can be confident it actually started before that and just took time to notice.
Anyways, go by the calendar date. It's the most accurate given when AF showed for you and consistency is very important in charting so unless you've marked the day after an afternoon arrival as CD 1 in the past you shouldn't do it now.
