It was great! She was really attentive, asked a lot of questions, and didn't just say "we're doing this and that's that." She asked about his dietary habits, medical history, etc. and then looked at his teeth. She believes he has too much calcium in his saliva which is causing severe build-up on his bottom teeth. He's scheduled to have them cleaned under light sedation at the office next month and from then on he'll have to use an electric toothbrush several times a day. She also wants him to carry one around to chew on throughout the day to help and he'll have to go in for more frequent cleanings than is the norm to prevent them from getting bad again. She said that it wasn't something that could've been foreseen and that once it got to a point where it was noticeable there's nothing I could've done. That made me feel so much better because I felt like I'd failed him somehow. Overall it was a really great appointment and I'm glad that the kids will be going there. They take them from birth up, no age minimum, so they can all go.
On the down side, he threw up in the car on the way home.
