There is not an animal (that lives) on the earth, nor a being that flies on its wings, but (forms part of) communities like you. Nothing have we omitted from the Book, and they (all) shall be gathered to their Lord in the end.
(Quran 6:38)

"Do you not realise that everything in the heavens and earth prostrates/submits to Allah: the sun, the moon, the stars, the mountains, the trees, and the animals?" (Qur'an 22:18)

One of the things that first fascinated and attracted me reading the Qur'an was the many references to kinship and kindness towards the other animals that share the world with us, rather than treating them as mere tools of people. I have always felt like they were the ones (unlike humans) who were always following the right path.

Do you feel a special connection to animals? What are your favorite Islamic references regarding animals?
