In my case my son first became aware of me fasting last year (when he was 2) because I would tell him that when he tried to share food . Then he was excited to have iftar with me when I let him stay up that long. This year I was surprised even though we had discussed a lot about Ramadan in advance, he was soooo disappointed the first day that I didn't wake him for suhoor, he insisted he was going to fast and now he would have had nothing to eat first . His "fast" only lasted a short time hehe but I I have now been getting him up to share suhoor on days when we are able to sleep a bit longer the next day, he jumps right up . I was surprised (and a little worried about his amount of sleep) but I don't want to kill his enthusiasm either
