I went to see my Dr. yesterday and she said to eliminate caffeine completely during pregnancy, especially the first 12 weeks. I'm wondering how I'm going to do that!

Ugh, I know. I love coffee more than anything. A lot of doctors say it's ok to have a little, but I'm going cold turkey until I'm out of the 1st tri!

I had caffeine throughout my first pregnancy and was fine. My ob said no more than 200mg of caffeine a day.

I've cut out Cokes completely...am waiting until second trimester to pick those back up...even then I'll prob do no more than 1-2 per week. I love to have a Coke when we got out to dinner.

I have eaten sweets and chocolates, which have some caffeine. I'm not going to feel guilty about it though!!!

you can have up to 300 MG of caffeine daily.

Im thinking the thought process behind it is it can constrict the blood vessels in the body (including the uterus)

Im trying to only have it on days I work (3 nights a week)

I had coffee throughout my entire pregnancy with my second son. I have completely cut it out this time because I was drinking too much to begin with.

Popping in from the June 2012 Playroom. I had about one cup of caffeine a day during my first trimester and then 2 cups the rest of my pregnancy. Had a happy, healthy baby. Just don't go overboard with it. Moderation is key

I drank a 24 ounce Diet Pepsi every day I was pregnant with DD who was born completely healthy. There are 70 mg of caffeine in 24 ounces so well under the 300 or so that is the upper limit. It would be better if I drank less clearly but I need my morning caffeine. I get crabby enough while pregnant. No one wants me to cold turkey caffeine too.
