I always break out too. And I got a bunch of skin tags when pregnant with my son, mostly around the base of my neck. Ugh! I hate those boogers! And I don't want to try to pull or trim them off myself...even if they are little, they hurt like heck!! And I really don't want to have to go to the doc's office to get them burnt or frozen off. Grr.
As for the pimples, I do use a salicylic acid soap bar. I was reading up on it to see whether it was safe or not or what I could do for breakouts, and it said that the problem with salicylic acid is that it's chemically similar to aspirin, and with aspirin being a no-no, you don't want to put large amounts of it on your skin, since it will absorb in. They said you should only have a problem with amounts like you'd get with getting a chemical peel. The tiny amount you might absorb with a quick wash with a facial product is pretty harmless. So I went with that and I use the acne bar pretty regularly. It does help. Feel free to do what you think is best.
