In the room with you when you deliver?

I will have hubby of course and his parents

My twin sister would be in the room but she lives in Florida now.

I will have hubby only! It's our first and I asked my mom to be in there and she said "no way, that is your private moment with Jason". LOL. Plus i figured if we had both sets of parents in the room it would be a little much......and not sure I want my father in law around with my V all out there! LOL

I will have DH, my mom, my doula and my best friend. And of course my midwife. Any of my close friends are welcome to be there, but most of them live out of state or several hours away. We plan to deliver at home though, so it's more like they are hangin' out with us while I wander through my house and pick a spot to deliver.

Probably just my hubby. I'll make my mom and sis wait outside the room! Hehe. I had my first in Alaska way far away from family, and it was my husband and my midwife that I knew and was comfortable with. I liked that arrangement. I missed my family being there for afterwards, but it was just fine having just hubby there.

I may have a cousin of my hubby to be my doula, but not sure yet.

Just my DH. I am very shy with some things, and this is one of them. Also, if there was (God forbid) any problems during labor, I don't want mom and mom-in-law all worked up and making me panic, KWIM?

just my husband and my doula, if I have one, and the medical staff. I am uncomfortable giving birth in front of people so only the necessary people are allowed.

It was my mom and husband both times. Last time my mom volunteered to stay back with my oldest, but it just worked out for her to be in the room instead. It was super nice because she takes the pictures and I love looking at them... it's not something DH is able to do, no offense to him . If I have the funds I want to hire a professional this time around since it will probably be our last baby. We'll see though...

Good question! I haven't even asked hubby what he'd prefer. I'm assuming that he'd say just the 2 of us but I'd prefer to have my mom in the room too.

My mom and Dh. That is the way it has been with all three of my boys. Well, except for ds3. I told Dh to go get something to eat because I knew he was getting restless and he needed to eat. He was gone 20 minutes and I went from 6 to 10 and delivered in that time. Poor guy. When he came back in, he had no clue what was going on. lol.

It will only be my SO and I, that's how it was with our daughter. Child birth to me is as intimate as when we made love to make our beautiful little babe.

Just my hubby. All of our family lives in different states and I honestly would rather it be just him anyway

Because my mom and his mom dont get along. Plus his mom was pro-epi and kept just telling me to get it even though I was trying really hard for a natural labor. And my mom was telling me that I was going to dialate fast, however I dialated painfully SLOWLY. It took 5 hours after they broke my water to get to 3 then another 10 to get to 5cm.. All of it ending in an Csection because he wasnt moving down the birth canal!

Were allowed to have 2 people at a time up until delivery and then only two people in the room while I push. With my last baby I only let my husband in the room while I pushed. But this time I think I might let my MIL be there too. I also might limit my visitors while laboring because last time I felt like I needed to entertain them and gave into getting the epidural which was a nightmare experience.

OK now I'd like to ask...what was the epi like? I'm planning not to get one but I love stories!

Probably just my hubby. I'm leaving it up to my mom if she'd like to be in the room this time or not. She was in the room when I was laboring with DS but since I ultimately had to have a C-section she didn't get to experience his actual birth. I will need my family to watch after DS while I'm in the hospital this time but would love to have her if she wants to be with me at the time instead of watching him. It's just that she's a little Nervous Nelly so IDK if she'd want to be there with me having a VBAC which she's not totally understanding or supportive of. :/
