I know i plan on it. I love the experiance. It is such an awesome feeling knowing that you can feed your baby. My husband is really suportive, so that helps. Im just not one of those women who does it in public. I plan on buying one of those cool wrap covers and trying that. Im big busted too, so that doesnt help. I feel like theres no easy way to hide the girls.

I am. I am also pretty busty but still do it in public. I've always used a cover with people around but that is more for me than anyone else and my kids don't mind it (or haven't so far). I think it's cool for others to do it coverless though, just hasn't been my preference. I love nursing my littles

me! I only managed 3 months with my daughter when my supply went down and I couldn't bring it back, but I did a whole year with my son. plan to do at least a year (but no more than 2) for the next one.

I feed my baby when and where I have to. especially when you have other kids I find if it needs to be done you can't take the time to search for a place to do it. I never have luck with those poncho things, so what I do is wrap a blanket around my middle under my shirt to cover my not so attractive belly, and just lift my shirt up enough to feed.

I plan on it this time around. It didn't work out with my first, but there were a lot of extenuating circumstances that just made it even more stressful than it had to be. I'm going to be much more prepared this time, and I'll be giving it my all, so fingers crossed that it works out.

I am going to give it everything I have.

TGill, what did you figure out you were doing wrong the first time?

I am. I can't wait to BF this time. With DS I was only successful for under a week due to the nurse giving him a bottle and then I had supply issues while trying to get him to latch again. It was heartbreaking and stressful for both of us. After two weeks I just gave up.

I will definitely bf for as long as possible during the 1st year. I bf my DS until he was about 11mos old. I wasn't big on bf in public either but if the need arose, I wasnt too shy to do it either, baby's needs come first! I just always brought a large blanket with me and I'd make sure everything that needed to be covered was covered.
Definitely look forward to experiencing this with my new baby. Its been such a long time since my DS was that age but I remember what a joy and undescribable feeling it was to nurse my baby. Getting all fuzzy thinking about it.

That is my plan. I went 5 months with my daughter and it hurt every single time. I could never figure out if she had a latch problem or if I was just too sensitive. We saw the lactation specialist many times and still couldn't get it right. I never enjoyed it due to the pain. I hope I have much better results this time around.

you should look to see if you have a le leche league around where you are they will start you off with information before the baby is ever born i went last week and got some videos and pamphlets and they come to the hospital and help you show you how to make sure the baby is latching right and they will come by your house if you need help

I BF my first for 10 months, I didn't like the experience at all. For the first week or two I had the worst burning whenever she latched. I felt like she never got enough and my supply was always low. She was a super messy eater and I would almost literally need to shower after every feeding.

With my second she started off right away as a much better breastfeeder. But my supply issues were still there and the burning still happened the first week. When she was a week old she was admitted into the hospital with a fever and my supply plummeted. I wasn't gonna fight it again, and I wanted to know that she was getting everything she needed. By 6 weeks she was completely on formula.

This time I really want to stick with it. There really is nothing like having a baby that close to you. I have some ideas with increasing my supply this time too. I found there were pros and cons to both. But probably the biggest thing I'm looking forward to it not having to make bottles with the baby wants food NOW! lol!! Especially in the middle of the night. Talk about a wake up call. So much easier to just be like, here, have a boob. Lol!

Breast is best. Im a breastfeeding peer counselor.

Ive used both formula and breastfed. I had a really hard time with DD1 and we had even a harder time with formula's. With DD2, I nursed exclusively, no bottles or pacis until she was 6 months old. Then we switched to formula. I tried to pump but I dont pump well without nursing at the same time (I nurse one sided and pump the other side). I actually donated all my pumped milk because Anna would not take it from a bottle, she just associated my milk with my breasts and wasnt liking it from the bottle. Im here to help troubleshoot anytime. I can make my cell phone number available to you ladies for help anytime.

OH and I do nurse in public. I have covers this time though (Never used them last time) but I find DH to get a little antsy (not that im whipping it out or anything) but his family is uptight and at family functions he hates if I get dirty looks. I personally dont really care.

This is my first, so I have nothing to compare it to, but I am really counting on being able to breastfeed full term! I don't think I'll have any problem nursing in public, however I will not nurse uncovered infront of my dad, or my husband's grandfather... anyone else is free to see 'the girls'.

DH is VERY pro breastfeeding, in his mind it's great for everybody and FREE! If it doesn't work out for some reason, he may be more disappointed than me!

I would love to, but most likely won't be able to because of certain meds I take that I can't go off of (asthma, thyroid, and gout meds). We'll see what the docs say when the time comes.

Consult the Thomas Hale guide. Doctors can be extremely conservative with medications but Hale did studies on each med, like for real, and alot of them don't pass into the breastmilk the way we think or affect the baby as we think. Its actually been proven to be better to nurse in instances where mom is a smoker vs formula feeding. I have a friend whom was told she could not nurse on her anti-anxiety med and when we consulted Hale, there was no evidence that it affected the baby and if anything could make the baby a little sleepy. She nursed successfully. Of course without knowing what specific meds you are on, this is just totally a recommendation to actually consult the Hale's guide. Good luck mama!

I plan on it. I bf my son for only 8 weeks then he wanted nothing to do with it. I made it to 11 months with ds2. The part I hate the worst is when the milk comes in. It is so painful for me. After the first two weeks of wanting to give up I usually do much better. My s&h is very supportive and helps me get thru it.
