I really liked her. She has a super cute 4 month old baby boy who hung out and rolled around the floor while we chatted. I felt pretty at ease with her so I went ahead and scheduled a prenatal appointment with and I will user her for my homebirth. The other midwife that is in my area is about 45 minutes away... considering my last labor was under 2 hours, I'm not confident she could make it to me in time.

I'm super excited! This will be my 4th baby but my first homebirth. I'm mostly looking forward to getting to eat REAL food and sleeping in my OWN bed after labor this time. Nothing worse than being starved after pushing out a baby and having yucky hospital food to eat and sleeping in a hard crappy bed.

That is great! I am glad you found someone you are happy with I just switched doctors, and I love him! Being comfortable with a doctor/midwife makes all the difference sometimes

That is so great! I really really want to use a midwife. Just got to get the hubby on board!

That's awesome!!! So excited for you! At least for this birth, I'm going to live vicariously thru you with the home birth experience

Get him to watch a couple homebirth documentaries... like Business of Being Born.

So exited for you that you found a midwife you're comfortable with.

When I was pregnant with DD I had my DH watch Business of Being Born and he was 100% on board with a midwife. Because of complications I had with my DS we opted for a birthing center instead of home birth, but my midwife helped make my delivery perfect.

I applaud you ladies who are going to do homebirths! I think it would be awesome. I just feel like for myself with the complications that happened with my miscarriage, that I wouldn't feel comfortable birthing at home. More power to ya though!

I am so excited for you. That is a wonderful option.

I'm going to stick with the hospital because a) we have military insurance that will cover every penny if we do it at the hospital, and b) I'm high-risk, so I want to be at the hospital just in case.

If I didn't have as many health issues as I do, I would seriously consider a midwife. I'm so happy that option is available.

By the way, two hours in labor!?! Holy cow!
