I k ow there is a theory about this but I don't remember anything about it. I have been craving salty/sour things like crazy! Lemons, pickles, green olives, bacon, etc. With my son it was sweets. Cinnamon buns, cookies, cake, fruits etc. I also HATED meat with Peter and this time I can't get enough meat. Thought? What about you?

I haven't had many cravings yet with this baby. With DD, I was blowing through movie theatre sized boxes of candy in no time flat. I couldn't get enough sweets. I always thought that was a girl craving so it's funny that you had it with Peter.

With Anna it was refried beans, eggs, fruit, cereal

I always heard sweets was a girl, salty/spicy was a boy.

I don't get strong cravings in pregnancy (at least not yet). But I have preferred foods that I eat a lot of. With Liam it was Mac-n-cheese, salads, and french fries. With Kieran it was lays plain potato chips and soft pretzels. This time it seems to be chocolate milk and nothing terribly salty. Usually I am a chip/pretzel/snack mix hound. But nothing with salt on it tastes very good. But I am not mecessarily craving sweets either. I am tending toward "real food" versus snack food (aka: a hamburger, a bowl of soup, grilled cheese). And some of those have naturally a lot of salt anyway. So I don't know how to classify my "cravings." I will say this is the first pregnancy I have had a sensitive nose and certain foods smell nasty cooking, even if I have always loved them.

I've heard the same, that sweet is girl, salty boy. But what about those other craved items?

With my first one, I wanted nothing more than tuna fish sandwiches with skittles mixed in, and washed down with a lemon berry slush from sonic. Lol. Second daughter, it was all about lemons. Lemon sherbet, lemonade, anything lemon.

I seem to be leaning toward lemon again. And bacon. Mmmmm bacon.

I have also heard sweet for girl, salty for boy. I haven't had cravings much lately, more like food I can just tolerate. Cheese, pasta, potatoes (french fries) milk, rice cakes, etc. I can't even think about eating meat without gagging!! I guess now that I look at my list, it's all salty. Maybe a boy?? DH would be so happy

I haven't really had anything I would say I actually crave. I eat chicken strips and french fries 3-4 times a week but it's more of a "safe food" I can eat and know I won't get sick.

I can really hold down sour, salty and spicy.... I can't really eat regular food so I eat the lemon/salt lucas, mexican candy, sour punch straws, and spicy yellow peppers all alone mmmmmmm.... I can't eat much but could eat a whole jar of those spicy peppers but I dont... i limit myself to 1 or 2.. The only other thing I can eat are salty frenchfries every sing day

Eggs... I have been craving eggs. Scrambled eggs for breakfast, egg salad for lunch/dinner... weird. With my son, I craved sweets and carbs. Bagels, donuts, mini PB cups, orange soda... oh yeah, and BEER. I craved beer so bad. (TG for NA beers).

This time around - soda does not sound appealing. I am not really caring about sweets. Beer isn't sitting well. (NA beer, of course) I just want to eat eggs and salads. And cheese on everything... though, I ALWAYS like cheese on everything.

Cravings are so funny! I don't think it's a tried and true formula, but it still interesting. I haven't been craving sweets much (two times so far), which for me is REALLY weird because that's my weakness. I love baking, but haven't been able to because it just smells too sweet.

Time will tell!
