My son wakes up at 4 am every night to nurse. After he nurses I have to pee, and grab a snack. By the time I am back in bed, I am wide awake for about an hour and a half it it so annoying. I obviously can't skip peeing, and if I don't get a snack, I start dry heaving in the morning. :'(

Maybe you could have some chamomile tea with your snack so you can relax a little easier? Keep the lights off, too. Get one of those glow seahorses for DS and then use that to wander the house.

This was far and large the WORST pregnancy related issue I had with both of my boys. It started around week 9 for me and didn't end until week 25 or so. I tried tea, baths, meditation, medication (unisom)...nothing worked. I would sleep 2-3 hours when I first laid down and then would be awake from 12-5am and would drift off right for another hour or two before I had to work/get up with Liam. It was terrible. And every single night. I used to dread going to bed, since it wasn't restful.

I am hoping and praying I don't have the same issue this time. I am still too early to tell. But the midwife said that some women just have it in pregnancy, some worse than others. I apparently fell under the worse category. And it was sad because I never got that second trimester windfall of energy, cause I was never sleeping!

Sorry. I've had a few pregnancies as well and nothing worked. The good news was at 40 weeks gestation it went away and I slept like a baby .

When it happened to me, I took a nap. It's not like it interferred with my night time sleep!

That stinks. I usually can't go back to sleep after my second potty break at 4:30 am myself. I'm always restless until my son finally wakes up for the day around 8 am.
