Holy Moly!

I had my follow up today in the big city. The highrisk OB I was to see got called to another hospital for a c section, so a nurse took us in and did the first ultrasound. She couldn't see any spot that was unusual or that was concerning. But she did spend a long time going through the whole body of the baby and everything looked great. The baby sure was wiggly!!! (I drank a little juice before hand!), but they let me go pee before the ultrasound (at the 1st ultrasound I had to have a full bladder, and that was torture!) It was so neat to see them moving around even though I can't really feel it at all.

My MIL did come, and I was ok with that. She is a nurse in the same hospital, and has a lot of respect for her work in cardiology, so she was very involved and happy to see a 'great looking 4 chambers!'

Then we found out the gender... Our wiggly little bebe is a BOY! (I was totally WRONG! I was convinced it was a girl)

Because they didnt see the 'problem' they did an internal ultrasound and the 2 nurses himmed and hawed over what they were looking at. They then told me to go for lunch and come back, and hopefully the OB would be back by then, vs. rescheduling to drive the 2 hours to see her again this week, or late next. I stayed and when she showed up did a 3rd ultrasound. She found a large clot (almost as long as the baby, but not as wide... I have no idea how everyone else missed that), that she said looked like it was starting to liquify in spots explaining the bleeding. She said that it could come and go for the next little while, and that I'm at a higher risk for pre term labour because of all this, but that hopefully it'll go away.
I go back in 4 weeks for another scan, in the end she said that there is no evidence that limiting activity can change the outcome, and that I can go back to normal day to day activities... that said I'm feeling a little beat up (long drive combined with having my tummy pushed and proded a few times.) So I will probably take a day or two to just relax!

Well congrats on team blue, I'm glad you have a healthy baby!
The clot does sound concerning, but it sounds like they're not super concerned about anything disastrous. I hope you end up going full term and that the clot goes away on its own.

We were destined to be DDC buddies! I'm glad to hear there's not any blood flow to it and it's just breaking up. Maybe it'll just reabsorb and go away! I go Wednesday to find out more about mine.

Congrats on Team Blue! Boys are so sweet.

YAY for little boys! I'm really glad they were able to find what was causing the bleeding. Now I hope it dissolves quickly and safely for you.
