I woke up this morning with red spots.. I went to the doctor and she is 99% sure i have chicken pox. I'm so scared for the baby now

well i ended up in the hospital cause i didn't get chicken pox till i was 14 and the older you get the worse it is so your in for a rough ride

So what are you doing, taking for it? Very scary...t&p for a quick recovery...here's the info i found online:

I'm on acyclovir 800mg..She said 4 weeks after the pills i need a lvl 2 and check on my lil man. Thank you all for responding all i can do is pray hard

Good grief! Like pregnancy isn't hard enough without getting sick! I am sorry. I hope it passes quickly for you. I wonder then - will your baby be born with an immunity? Or does it not work that way?

I'm sure this really helped Shannon's concerns. (I love you, lady! And you're right, it's worse as an adult, but hopefully it won't last long!!)

I hope everything goes well! It seems like as long as you can prevent infection it shouldn't be an issue.

I did read that baby can get some of mama's anitbodies, so I hope that means good things for you baby! I'm sorry you're sick, that sucks!!

chickenpox is an infectious disease caused by first-time contact with the virus whereas shingles is caused by a recurrence of the dormant virus already in your system (from a previous case of chickenpox)

Ugh. That sucks. A mom in my moms group (we are not terribly close, so I don't know details) had chicken pox when she was preggo with her second child (her first brought them home from somewhere). And her son is totally fine. I don't know how far along she was (or if it matters). But I imagine it is scary and not very comfortable Hoping it goes away quickly and your dude is great!
