I just bit down on an almond and broke a huge part of my wisdom tooth off. It is pretty much just a small shard right now and is bothering me. I am calling the dentist first thing in the morning. Has anyone had to have major dental work during pregnancy? I am a pain wuss and terrified of the dentist(which is why I have put off getting my wisdom teeth out). Please tell me they can give me somrthing other than tylenol for the pain!

Yes, you can get novocaine without the epinephrine in it while pregnant...it doesn't last as long as regular novocaine, but it will do!

I'm a pain wuss too, so I specifically asked about this at my last cleaning, which was in December...kind of a just in case...

I haven't had it done while pregnant but I had my wisdom teeth pulled last year and it was pretty much pain free! I had an awesome oral surgeon pull them, he really knew his stuff! As long as you stay ahead of any pain/discomfort afterwards and really baby your mouth you will be okay! Sorry this happened though, really sucks!

I can't comment on the dental stuff because I don't know, but just wanted to say that sounds really painful and I hope you can get it fixed right away!
