Ugh! I had an annoying day at work today. I'm tired of being near people. I'm fine with my students because I get why they act the way they act, but dealing with the other teachers and their God complexes and power trips just drives me up the wall. When you disagree with one of them, they insult your very being, and I'm reaching my breaking point here. When I was pregnant with my son, I was out of school by this point. Geez Louise! I have to be pregnant at school for the WHOLE school year.
I am a teacher too...special education low functioning and we are testing on 'state standards' that they think are relavant to my students with IQ of on average 50 lives....and we had a faculty meeting yesterday and a state attendance audit today...so I totally get the not wanting to deal with the others in the building issues Its almost Friday thats what I keep chanting!!!
I'm with you and shuff both!!! People dread teaching SPED SDC and i get comments from other teachers about how i have all the problem kids. I LOVE my students and hate having to leave my room because of the poor classroom management in other rooms and because gen ed kids are SOOOOO mean to each other!
Anyway hang in there, we're almost to spring break! You even have some 3 day weekends in feb right? When are you going on Mat leave?
I'm not due until May 31, and our school year ends May 24, so I won't be starting next school year. Spring break is right around the corner. We have state testing in English in early March, so I can probably relax and not worry so much after spring break.
