I did a few weeks ago. I usually don't polish them often anyway, but once in awhile I feel the need to pretty up.

Not really, last time was about a month ago.
The smell makes me uncomfortable, guess I am too paranoid to do it often...

I haven't tried. I got a pedicure a few weeks ago and will get one about every two weeks until I have the baby. So relaxing.

I've been thinking about treating myself to a manicure before the baby is born. I never paint my own nails - it's just too much work!

I really haven't went to get my nails painted yet alone did them myself. But before pregnancy I loved doing all that.
Bright fun colors, it made me feel good. Since all the views on the fumes and chemicals and all that I have been edgy to even paint them myself.

I bought a gel system about a year ago. I put gelish on my nails about once a month. It lasts 2-3 weeks, then I give my nails a week to recover. I remember after having my son that I hated wearing nail polish because I was worried it would chip off in his mouth. The gelish doesn't chip or peel, so no problems.

It's safe to paint your nails while pregnant, I have not because of my super sonic pregnancy induced sense of smell is completely overwhelmed by the smell. It never bothered me during my last pregnancy and I painted them about once a week.

I worried too about nail polish chipping off or tasting yucky in DS's mouth when he was a newborn. Sometimes when you're getting ready to feed them or they need soothed, a finger works as well as a binky so I wanted to be able to do that with no fear.
What is the gel stuff you're talking about, Sharon? It sounds cool.

No, I used to get pedicures all the time before I had kids. I have a gift certificate for my birthday for a mani-pedi. I'm gonna use it at the beginning of May if I make it that long so I can be all prettified for delivery. I'm also gonna get... groomed... you know... in the lady-bits while I'm at it.

Aww!!
I love gelish!
I discovered it last year and was pretty much addicted to it.

What it is Joy, it's nail polish that stays on a lot longer. Kind of like the fake extension nails but with the gel nail polish they don't add all the extra things to your nails. And they only dry right using a UV light.
They stay shiny for weeks and they never peel or chip. They also protect your nails from breaking, or at least they protect mine and help them stay strong enough to grow long.

Nope. When you have horses, dogs, chickens, and are obsessive about cleaning your house nail polish would last about 2 minutes if I did paint my nails. However, I got my first pedi this summer before my wedding, and I am thinking about getting it done before I Chase comes

Awe how cute

Yes for a busy life style I suggest the gel nail polish. Preferably get the "gelish" brand. It's super great!

Congrats on your wedding!! How was it?

Aww, thanks for asking It was great! I have known my husband since I was 12 years old, so it was a dream come true for me I was married before, and it was not a good marriage, so my wedding was amazing on so many levels since I got to marry the love of my life finally, lol

I will have to check out the gel polish stuff and try it out. If it lasts more than one day of me working with my horses I will be amazed!

That gel stuff sounds really cool! I can never keep nail polish on my fingers for more than ten seconds without chipping them all over the place, so I never paint them.

But I do paint my toenails on a regular basis. I have very long, slightly mannish feet (they are huge, which is what makes them look that way) and I find that keeping polish on my toes makes me feel a little prettier I just redid them a couple days ago.

Yes, in fact I just got a mani/pedi this weekend.

Fingernail polish is not harmful while pregnant. The only concern is the fumes but as long as you're not huffy the nail polish or remover you will be just fine. If you're concerned at all just make sure you're in a well ventilated room; perhaps go into the den or kitchen rather than doing your nails in a small bathroom for instance.
