So I had my one hour glucose test yesterday...I had a harder time drinking the stuff this time, but I got through it without throwing up. My doctor's office has a cut off of 135. This morning I got my results via voicemail. I just made it. I was at 135, so I don't have to go to the 3 hr test, thank goodness.

Should I be concerned about the borderline level though?

Just watch what you eat (don't go on crazy carb or sugar binges), make sure you walk a bit or do some exercise and you should be fine

I have to say that I'm surprised they didn't make you take the 3hr one just in case! But YAY

I would say if they're not worried about it, then you shouldn't be either.

When my doc explained the 3 hour to me today just in case he said you have to fail 2 of the 4 sticks to be considered to have GD so I figure even if your first was borderline a pass is a pass and it would have gone down more at the 2 hour mark so you would still pass the 3 hour test as well. Im not sure if that makes sense typed out, but it does in my head. lol

Yeah, that makes sense...I was researching the 3 hr test and saw that too. I most likely would have passed the 3 hr one. I just didn't want to actually have to take it. I know I'd be starving and get all shaky - I get that way when I don't eat regularly. I am so thankful I passed, even if it was borderline! I really should watch my carbs and sugar, though, I've been binging!

I believe APA American Pregnancy Association says 140 is the cut off. Some offices choose to lower their #. Mine uses 135 too. I failed mine at 145 after crappy eating Suoer Bowl Sunday. I refused the 3 hour and pushed to repeat the 1 hour which I then passed with a 110 after a normal day of eating beforehand. APA says normal eating for 3 days before.

Yeah, I'm thinking my chocolate cravings in the days prior did not help! I think I would have refused the 3 hr one too and asked for a repeat of the one hour.
