I just had to share!
I have a friend who has lots of fertility issues tied to PCOS, and all she's ever wanted in life is a baby. When I met her, I was pregnant, and she cried when I came around because it was so hard for her. The first time she saw my son she cried for the same reason. Well, that was 5 years ago. In January, she learned that she was adopting a 2 year old little boy who had been in foster care since he was 6 months old. She got to bring him home in early March. YESTERDAY, she was surprised with her son's 3 month old baby brother! She's now a mother of 2 in less than a month. She's so overjoyed and overwhelmed, and I couldn't be happier for her! She will be a great mother. She's a loving teacher, and her life is complete now!
My good friend was an adoptive mom (aka: she was giving her son up for adoption after he was born because she was a teenager without resources). She knew a family much like you describe. They tried to adopt a baby for a long time and were at the top end of the age range (back in the early-90s). They were on lists to get a baby when my friend picked them for a private adoption. Before my friend delivered her son, they were offered a little girl who was unexpectedly given up for adoption through a service they signed up on. They opted to take BOTH babies, who were about two months apart in age.
Sometimes it really does work out amazingly. These stories just make me so happy. I am very glad for your friend. She sounds awesome and I hope she is enjoying every bit of it (as I am sure she is!)
I just can't stop thinking about it! I'm going to get my sons old clothes together and mail them to her this weekend! They are the wrong season for my baby boy, but should work for her baby. And I have tons of 3t clothes for her toddler. I wish I could be there in person to witness this wonderful miracle!
