So I had to go pick up my ultrasound report from back when I started bleeding. Unfortunately, my ultrasound tech didn't record the measurements when she did them a few weeks after I started bleeding (she wasn't even really supposed to measure and tell me how big she thought it might be since the perinatologist was supposed to do that), but I did get the report from his office showing measurements 5 weeks after I started bleeding. He didn't tell me exactly how big it was... and I'm really glad.

When confronted with bad news, I tend to panic and the immediately shut down. He seems like a really tell-it-like-it-is kinda guy, very nice but not the kind of doctor who would skirt around an issue, so the only thing I think as to why he fudged the measurements for me was because my midwives let him know how I'd react (prolly start crying in serious drama queen fashion). And I am totally okay with that. Panic was not what I needed to be doing and by putting me on bed rest and kind of giving me an estimate rather than exact measurements was definitely the way to go.

They're all getting big hugs when I go in for my appointment next week.

Has your doctor done anything just extra special for you?

I haven't really had anything come up that would give them the opportunity to do something like that, but my OB did call after I left my last appt to tell me Happy Birthday. He said he hadn't noticed it while I was in the office. Thought that was pretty awesome.

When we lost Baby B our ob office was amazing. They definatly went way above and beyond to take care of us. The nurse called me multiple times just to see how i was doing and the tech made sure i didnt see the baby on the ultrasound anymore. They did a great job helping me and DH through it.

Purrrr, so how big was it now that you got the proof in your hands? Just curious.

My OB has been pretty good, she's pretty laid back so she doesn't push me to do stuff, just makes suggestions, etc. Like with my weight, she only mentioned it once and when she did, she asked how I felt about my weight, and then said she never tells her pregnant patients to diet, but just to make healthy food choices. That was the end of that. I'm glad!

I switched to my current OB right after I lost my first baby. The first office was terribly inconsiderate and just awful to me. This office got me an early appointment and the receptionist chose a specific doctor because she thought she would be the best match for me. The doctor was wonderful and just let me cry and them calmly told me what her plan was for helping me have a successful pregnancy. I was so depressed and to have someone make time for a brand new patient and be so kind was exactly what I needed. They were so accomodating of me while I was pregnant with DD. Early ultrasound, extra bloodwork, random heartbeat checks, thousands of questions, and all with not a single hint that I was in any way inconveniencing them. I LOVE my OB office.

I love hearing all these positive stories about your doctors. So many years I wasted on offices that I didn't *love*.

I started bleeding at 15.5 weeks and the measurement at 20.5 weeks was 6.4 x 8.7 x 2.9 cm. He told me at the time, "Oh, it's still pretty big... probably about 7cm..." and kinda left it at that. It's now 1x3cm according to this last report! So small!
