I got some!! And oh my word it feels amazing! Doc told me yesterday the only reason he put me in the hospital to begin with was because the constant headache I've been having is one of the neuro signs to watch for with preeclampsia and as long as I have it I'm classified as severe until they can do something to break it. He offered to write whatever I wanted as long as I would try anything to get it to break. He wrote Percocet to try and I did. Didn't touch it and I think that's what made me feel miserable and nauseated all evening. Finally last night I caved and took the Demerol and Phenefgan (please don't judge me). I was able to get a whole 6 hours of sleep and woke up with the headache gone. I haven't felt this good in a loooooong time. Only got up to pee twice in that time too. Headache is coming back, and I won't take it again during the day. I don't like being knocked out or drugged feeling, but I'm just comforted to know that if it gets too bad again there is something that will help it. My doc is going to be so proud. lol

I'm glad you got some sleep! I was gonna tell you to take the demerol if you hadn't already. That's enough to knock you out for a good period of time! I have a funny demerol story...

I had to have a colonoscopy a few years ago, but the medicine they gave me to... uh.... clear the way... made me throw up instead, so I ended up going to the ER before being wheeled into the OR for the procedure. The nurse was a guy I knew and he felt so bad for me he asked the doctor to write the highest dose he could so I would definitely stop vomiting. He came into the room and I was talking to him while he started to push in the medicine. DH said all of the sudden I got really quiet and went, "Ohhhh, wow..." and that's all I remember until I got home after the colonoscopy!

lol That colon clearing stuff is brutal. I can't even count how many times little old men and women spit that stuff at me trying to get them to drink it.

As of now, ANYTHING to get sleep is wonderful!
So no judgement from my end!
Sleep is a miracle these days!

Glad you finally got some rest. And remember to take the meds again when needed. If the doctor cleared it then its fine to take.

I wish I was home. They aren't letting me leave until she's born. They are doing 1hour NST's twice a day, an ultrasound/BPP on Monday and I see the MFM doc on Thursday again. My bp still goes up, especially when I change positions, and the headache is back. So they aren't letting me go anywhere. They are letting walk around and go outside though so it helps. They have waterfalls and ponds around the hospital so it's really relaxing to just go out and sit a few minutes.

I'm glad you got some good rest! And no I'm not judging either, I'm glad you took the medication you needed to help your headache go away. My sister ended up with kidney stones that decided to get on the move during each of her three pregnancies. Every time she ended up in the hospital on a drip of strong pain meds (Morphine I think?). I think so long as they can monitor your baby while you're on the meds, then there's no harm done. Better for you to be better, so your BP can come down!
I'm sorry you have to still be stuck in the hospital though. That sucks. Does your BP get better if you're on your left side? I know for me my fast heart rate is worse laying on the right side and better on the left. Course you can't lay on your left side 24/7. I hope you get some better news soon!

Well with the bp it's just all over the place. I might walk the hospital and it's 126/70 or I can simply sit up in bed and it's 144/92. It's very unpredictable. Was at 145/112 yesterday just before doc came in, but was back to 135/80 a few hours later. It's craziness. Just kicked hubby's butt playing Monopoly. Bout to lay back and watch Andy Griffith show. Gotta love tv land.

That sucks! I wonder why they wouldn't just put you on a low dose of BP meds? *shrug* I'm no doctor though! Maybe because it's not consistently high, but just randomly up and down.

Good job winning at Monopoly Enjoy your TV!

I asked about BP meds. He said the only treatment for preeclampsia is delivery. I was told if they give meds to treat the bp then they wouldn't know if I was getting more severe or not. They have to know the bp without meds. If it stays over 160/110 for more than 2 readings it's a sign to deliver.

That makes sense, because it's more than just the BP that's the problem. And they don't want to mask the symptoms and then not know you're getting critical or something. Hope Avery can stay in just a bit longer!

They gave me the pills! The ones that got recalled recently... I was doing just fine right up until I got to the last 2 doses. I remember looking at the package and thinking, I don't think I oughta take these, but it says I have to... and then things went down hill from there.

That sound like a pretty hospital but I'd mad to have to stay there for weeks. They never seem to let you rest when you're an inpatient.

I'm due May 7. The food hasn't been too bad and I have plenty of friends and family visiting that will bring something if I ask. I was an emotional mess yesterday, but I've been a lot better today. I know even if they have to take her now she'll be fine but I'm hoping she grows a little so she can bake a little longer. Their plan is to just watch her on ultrasound each week and if it looks like she'll grow better outside of my body than inside they'll take her. If I didn't live 30-40 minutes from the hospital I would push a little harder to go home, but the specialist was pretty adamant that her growth was borderline and they needed to watch closely until she's ready to meet the world so here I sit. It could be a week or it might be 6 weeks. It's just a waiting game now.

oh my goodness. I feel so bad knowing you're sooooo thankful for just 6 hours of uninterrupted sleep! Hope the headache is gone for good. Pre-e seems very scary and not fun at all but it seems like you've got some really supportive family and docs. Glad they are taking care of you and you're resting up. How are things on your home front? Is your home all ready?

The headache has been a dull ache since yesterday morning which I'm totally grateful for. I can deal with that. It was the constant throbbing before that was making me a basket case. Her nursery is pretty much ready. We had already washed her clothes and everything. Her bag is packed. We have all of the big ticket items we need. I still have a shelf I had just bought the day before I was admitted that DH needs to put up for the baby monitor and an organizer I'll try to get my brother to put together for the blankets that I hadn't gotten to yet. All in all I'm prepared whenever she comes. I'm pretty OCD so there was never a chance of not having things ready even if she came early. Remember, I'm the girl that had the nursery painted, decorated, and furniture in it before even conceiving. lol

That's great Misty!! Total opposite of me...we are big time procrastinators. We would not be ready if baby came early. Yikes!
