Out of curiousity, are you similar in age to when your parents had children? Are you at a completely different end of the spectrum? Was it planned that way or did it just "happen"?

*************************************

We actually had kids really close in age to when my parents had them. My folks first (me) was when mom was 23 and dad was 24. I was 24 when I had Liam and DH was 26. It was not planned that way at all, Liam was a surprise baby. I always assumed I would be over 30 before I had kids. But it turns out we are following a similar pattern (and will also likely be done with the kid thing around the time I am 30).

We are totally different than DHs parents though. They had their first (DH) at 34. They did not meet until they were both over 30 and his mom had been married once already.

my birth mother was 17 when she had me. I was almost 21 when I had my first.

my adoptive mom was a virgin when she got married.

I am not like either of them lol

My mom had my brother at 17, me at 20, and my sister at 25.
I had my first at 26. I'm 31 now with my second.
I was the oldest first time mom ever in my family at 26. I broke the cycle.

My mom had me when she was 27 and I was the middle child of 3. I had my first at 19 and now my last at 30. I'm having more children over a greater time period than she did. We definitely didn't plan it this way but that's just what's happened. I'm not even sure what we would have done otherwise.

My mom always wanted children, was 25 when she had me and I'm the oldest of 5. She tried for 5 years before she actually became pregnant with me though, so she really wanted a baby at 20. I never wanted kids growing up, only tried for 3 months before becoming pregnant and am having my first and only at 32. Definitely completely opposite of my parents.

My parents had my brother when my mom was 20 and my dad was 21, they had me when my mom was 25 and my dad was 26. I'm almost 32, pregnant with my first so I'm way older than them in starting our family. We had planned to have kids a couple years after we got married in 2004, but timing and nature just didn't have it in the books for us until now, almost 9 years after we were married.

My parents got pregnant with me (their first) when my mom was 25 and my dad was 29.
I was 24 and my husband was 28 when we conceived Peyton (#1 for us as well)... So very very similar.

It was kinda of planned that way. We both used the 5 year rule so it landed around the same time and neither of us had problems getting pregnant.

When I was born, my mom was 29 and my dad 40. I'm an only child.

I'm 26 and my husband is almost 41. The pregnancy was a complete surprise; I would've preferred to have waited another year or two but that's not how things worked out

My mom was 24 and my dad was 27 when they had me. They were 29 and 33 for my sister.

I was 35 for DD and 37 for this baby. DH was 49 for DD and 51 for this baby so we are the complete opposite of the spectrum. We both went to professional school, didn't meet until I was 29 and then had issues getting and staying pregnant so it all added up on us.

My parents were neighbors and went to school together. My dad asked her to marry him 3 times before she finally said yes, they got married soon after he returned from Vietnam. My mom was 21 and my dad 25 when they had me and she was finished having the 3 of us girls by the time she was 25. My youngest sister was an "oops" baby conceived during the Blizzard of 78' here in Massachusetts lol, we never let the poor girl forget it either. My grandmothers were both only 40 when I was born.

So no, we're nothing at all like them, though I sort of wish we were because I'm almost 40 and my mom is just turning 60 this year - in comparison, this baby will only be 20 when I turn 60 DH and I got married at 27 and 30 after being together for 5 years. DS was born when I was 33 and now I'm 39. DH and I didn't think we wanted any children either in our younger years and that changed once we got into our 30s.

My mom was 23 and my dad was 28 when they had my sister. My mom was 40 and my dad was 45 when they had me. Neither my sister nor I were planned. I'm 27 with my first, and it was planned. My husband and I have been married for 8 years, and he has wanted kids for several years now, but I always thought it would be best for us to wait until we were finished with school. Even though my husband is only 26, he feels like he'll be an "older" parent because his parents were so young when they had him-- 16 and 17. My husband's mom went to school with my sister...so strange lol.

My mom was 22 when she had my older bro, 24 when she had me, and 28 when she had my younger brothers (twins). My dad is 2yrs younger than my mom, so you can figure out his corresponding age if you do the math ;P. DH and I are the same age; he's exactly one month older than me .

I was 22 when I had DS (about to turn 23), and I'll be 29 (almost 30) when this one makes her arrival . I guess my ages for childbearing have been surprisingly similar to my mom's although we didn't really plan it that way. DH and I just agreed we wanted to be done having kids by the time we were 30, and it looks like we're just barely making the cutoff, lol .

I guess I'm the only teen mom product here .... I am still baffled that my squeaky clean, straight A, angel of a mom, had kids so early.... her and my dad were such opposites in HS.... my parents made some bad choices and ended up with "surprises" she always told us we weren't accidents. Accidents are something you usually dont want and surprises are something you don't know you wanted until you got it.

She was 15 when she had my brother and 17 when she had me. I was 25 with our first and 28 now.

I love this! What a sweet way to say it.

I'm having kids a bit older than my mom. Mom had my sis (her first) when she was 22, and me 2 years later at 24. Dad was 31 when they had their first. I didn't get married till 25 and had our first at 27. DH was 32 at that time. Now I'm 31 with our second. A little old but not bad

I'm close in age to when my parent's had children, but started a few years earlier. And yes, it was very planned.
My mom started having children at age 25 and was finished by age 30. I always knew I wanted to be a "younger" mom. I had DS at age 23 and hope to be done having children by age 30-32 at the oldest. For me there's no right or wrong way it's just my preference and since I married my high school sweetheart I was able to stick to that plan as we had everything in place and no real reason to wait.

my mom was 30 and my dad 32 when I was born, and than 3 years later my brother was born.

I was 25 when our first was born and am now 38...so my mom thinks I'm getting to old

Well I got married when I was 19, and had my first kids at 21!
My dad and mom were not married until they were both 25.
So my mom had 5 kids and wasn't done until she was in her early 30's.
I think her second was born when she was 27??
I will be done with having kids at 27 and have 4 kids!

My mom was 25 and my dad was 28 when I was born. She was 28, almost 29 when my brother was born.

I was 27 when I had my first, 30 when I had my second, and I'll be 32 when I have this baby.
