Had my 38 week apt (one day eary) still 3 cm dilated and 80% effaced. Purchased some primerose oil t start in a few days... hopefully that will help my body to continue to progress!! Doc said he thinks baby will be born before my next apt (25th) but Im not so sure. Thankfully baby is finally nice and low

How do they know the baby is low?

I have no idea, all I know is last week he told me baby was still high! haha
I did a lot of movement on my workout ball trying to get baby low, guess it worked?

I guess it did lol
My doctor didn't say the baby was high. He checked my cervix before my ultrasound and said "okay, baby is head down that's good" lol so I'm assuming he felt the baby's head? Hmmm ill ask at my next appointment.

My doctor has expressed a lot of surprise and pity at the lowness of the baby's head... so that's how I know.

ALSO, I've been reading a lot of research about membrane sweeping, and it doesn't seem to have any adverse effects, but does reduce the risk of being induced, so it's something to consider.

Sometimes you can tell by looking at your belly, you look like you're carrying lower, but personally I can't really tell either. I feel like I've been carrying low all along, lol. But obviously not low enough, my doc says baby's head is still high! Hehe.
Sometimes you can tell by feel because you'll all of a sudden have a lot more pressure on your bladder and more crampy/achy feelings in the pelvic area. And you'll have more room in your stomach, so you might eat more than before.
