Does engorgement make nipples even more sore?

Mine are so freaking sore - though they look fine, no cracks or bleeding and are a good shape when she's done nursing. Since I'v become engorged though, it feels like the initial latch on hurts even more.

I feel the same way.
Maybe not as sore as the first times but definitely sore in a way.

I've definitely noticed my nipples get sore when we go to long between emptying.

Yes. Both because baby's initial latch isn't as good (its harder to latch onto a very full breast) and because they are being "stretched" from the inside too, full of milk. Mine always are worse if I feed in really engorged breasts.

I agree! They are more sore if they're over-full.

Sometimes I pump for a minute or two before the feeding just so be can get a better latch. It helps a lot!

Yes! Though it lessens over time.
