And it's hard to see our little guy hurting. We had to wait to have it done because our stupid insurance didn't want to pay for it and it took this long (2.5 weeks) to get it straightened out to where they *should* pay (but we're still not 100% on it).
Kody's urologist strongly recommended getting him circumcised and said that if he wasn't, then he would need to be on daily antibiotics for 6 months, so we were wanting to get this done to help cut down on the chances of him getting a UTI, but it's still hard! I feel bad for the little guy and DH had tears in his eyes the first time we changed his diaper. Hope he heals up quickly!

Aw I know it's hard to see your little guy hurting. Luckily it heals really fast. I forget if you're nursing but if you are I heard putting breast milk on it helps it heal faster. I learned that after Grady was all healed.

Hugs to your little man!

Hmm I hadn't heard that! Sounds reasonable though.

I felt the same way. When I saw how red it was and the blood I thought, "what did I do to my son?!" I cried. It was all healed within a week though and looked much better after just 2 days. Good luck!

Johnny gets circumcised tomorrow. With my last son we had to wait til he was 6 weeks or a certain weight. So with him I just waited til he was a month. I feel like a bad mom for getting it done especially bcuz its not medically necessary . But my other 2 boys and dh are. This is why I was hoping for a girl lol

Hmm that's interesting, for Kody my doc's office did not want to do it past 2 weeks old, they made an exception for us and did it for him at 2 1/2 weeks, but past that they would have referred him out to someone else to do it. Wonder why your doc wanted you to wait?

I totally was hoping to avoid this, too, and I selfishly wanted a girl for the same reasons lol. I mean, besides just wanting a girl because they're fun! Oh well, what's done is done!

Joy, I don't think you should use Neosporin on a baby. I thought it was for ages 2 and up?

Vaseline should do the trick! Hope he heals quickly.

Kary--on his aftercare paper, they said either vaseline or antibiotic ointment...so I guess it's ok? Maybe I should double check with the office.
