I can't figure this kid out today. He has wanted to fuss and cry all afternoon. I've tried everything I know, and he just doesn't want to be happy. He just dozed off for a few minutes, but I'm guessing he'll wake back up again and want to fuss some more. Only thing that seems to work is doing big back-and-forth swinging motions. Doesn't want to nurse, isn't real interested in a bottle, and he doesn't take binkies! Argh. My firstborn has always been a binkie boy so it's frustrating that this one doesn't want to take it.

I feel your pain. Lexi catnapped all day. No more than 10-15 min at a stretch, it was insanity. When she wasn't napping, which was frequently, she was in clear discomfort, grunting, fussing, weird posturing movements, whining, and eventually full on crying unless she was held. And then bc she didn't sleep between the feeds, she would need to eat every 90 min. When will this hell end?!

Yikes Kary. I'm sorry! Kody finally settled down around 8 pm. He was fussy from about 3pm until then. 5 hours of your kid needing held, rocked, and sung to is a bit much.

Remy has gotten into a pattern the past 4 days or so of being awake and wanting to eat every hour or so. Then by about 11:30 am he takes about 2 or 3 hour naps before waking and wanting to eat again until about 8 pm..ish. Then he stays awake for a while, eats, and eats what seems to be less than every hour. Last night I felt like he wasnt giving my supply enough time to replenish before he was hungry again so after i nursed him I gave him a bottle of breast milk right after. He slept from about 12 to 4 am this morning! When he is awake he does seem fussy though, crying alot. He doesnt really like the swing. He will go on the playmat for a little while though. I give him the soothie alot too. He doesnt really like it but will take it once in a while. I keep trying though because my other 2 didnt like it either. I just feel he needs something to keep him busy and make him happy.
Kary and Joy, did you guys try giving gas drops?

Avery gets like that the day before she has big explosive poops. I know I've been told and read it's normal for breastfed babies to go a week between poops, but once she gets to day 4 or 5 she starts getting fussy and just inconsolable. Last time I had to stand and walk her around the living room forever in her favorite position. When it gets to that point I just stimulate her to go so she feels better. I'm feel for anyone going through that. It's so frustrating feeling like we can't comfort our own babies.

Misty, seems like he's more fussy when he is on breast milk, because he has explosive poops all day long. But this was different than the usual fussy/gassy stuff he's done before, and it's still going on this morning. I put in a call to my Dr's office to see if they would recommend me bringing him in.
Jessica, I don't put any stock in Mylicon/gas drops, because of how they did absolutely nothing for Ethan when he was little and gassy, but I do have some gripe water I've been using with Kody. It seems to help usually but it didn't do anything yesterday either.

Yep, mylicon did nothing for my son, either, so I'm not even trying it this time around. Lexi has been farting all day!
