I know in pregnancy we counted months in 4 week increments (28 days). Since most months have more than 28 days, do you switch to using the day of the month LO was born Apr 16 =born, May 16=1 month, June 16=2 months, etc., or do you still count 4 weeks as 1 month. I said Avery was 1 month at 4 weeks and DH told me I was wrong. She's 2 months today according to his way, which makes since once I thought about it, but just curious what everyone else goes by.

A month is a month, Brock will be two months on June 1st. I still count by weeks though until he hits that two month mark.

I count by 4 weeks. My MIL counts by the date ( 1st to the 1st )

I think it should be by weeks until they are a year old.

I count by months. So Cadence will be 1 month on the 18th, even though she was technically 4 weeks yesterday. It probably doesn't matter; you can count however you want!

I count by the date he was born. I know it's not as "accurate", but it seems right to me.

I count by weeks until she hits two months (which is slightly over 8 weeks). After that, it's the day of her birth by months. It just seems how I've always done it. I stop counting months after 18 months and start saying 1.5 and "almost 2" depending on how close we are to the birthday. Then it's just half-years til 5. Then just years. Apparently I have lots of "rules" about it
EverydayJoy and Mrsbowbin like this.

Misty, your DH is right. Avery would be 2 months today. A month isn't always 4 weeks.

She is also 8 weeks, 5 days old today.
