My son makes this gasping sound every now and again. Do any of your babies do this? My mother-in-law says it is normal but my boyfriend had really bad asthma as a child so I know him and I are a little worried of Tiago having it too

Avery does something like that. She'll be sleeping and suddenly do this thing with like 5-10 short fast gasping breaths in a row and then back to normal. I just assume it's normal. As long as the breathing goes back to normal on its own I wouldn't worry. Asthma doesn't stop on its own. The breathing would be labored and noisy.

That is a really good point! Thanks! We jolt out of bed each time he does that gasping bit.

Sometimes Kody makes a high-pitched gasping sound once in awhile.

Claire totally does that, and it scared the absolute bejeezus out of me the first few times. It sounds like she stops breathing for a bit, and then all of the sudden does this huge wheezy gasp in when she remembers to breathe again.

I asked her doctor about it, and she says it's totally normal. Still, it's freakin' scary.

Lexi does it sometimes during a feeding - it scares me too! Guess my milk is coming out too fast!

Thanks ladies! Definitly a major mental break knowing its normal. Tiago does it during feedings sometimes too but I attributed that to fast milk as well. :-)
