It's a holiday and perfectly beautiful cooler than it has been day so why did my electricity go out at 530am?? This is beyond ridiculous. If it starts warming up outside before it comes on I'll have to load Avery and the dogs to take to moms so nobody overheats. So here's my question, how long is my frozen milk going to be ok in the freezer before I have to pack it to moms too? This is just not a convenient time for it to be out!
We lost power for close to 15 hours after a storm the other day.... luckily nothing we have for Arthur requires it. We left the freezers closed, but the breast milk did seem to thaw at least a little (I could manipulate the bag a little, vs being rock solid) so I threw them out. thankfully we didn't have a huge stash... but 'when in doubt...'
Well I did some research and found out as it's good 24-48 hours in the freezer if you leave the door shut. I also learned as long as it's still slushy it's still considered frozen. Definitely didn't know that.
