Does anyone else have a baby that grunts/squeaks/breathes funny when they're coming out of sleep? Claire does this from like 5 am until when she fully wakes up. Which of course means I wake up and lay there, waiting for her to fully wake and start crying. Usually I get up and get a bottle ready so it's there when she needs it.

Still, it makes it hard to get sleep when I can. I'm guessing they grow out of this at some point??

Kody is definitely super noisy in his light sleep phase. Honestly, I've learned (somehow) to sleep through it mostly. Probably through sheer exhaustion, haha.
I don't know if they grow out of it...or if you just end up putting them in another room.

Lexi used to do the grunting thing around that time as well, but not anymore. She will be 11 weeks tomorrow. I read that it was actually a developmental phase and they do grow out of it. Once I read that, I quit worrying about it and just let her do her thing and did my best to ignore it. Previously, I thought it meant she needed a burp or a feeding. Also, I feel like she grew out of it around the time my milk supply started evening out. Maybe just coincidence?

hahaha Misha is SO noisy in his sleep, but it's by far the worst in the early morning. so even if he does get one good stretch of 3 or 4 hours, it's followed by hours of noisy sleep that's impossible to ignore. my mom said that's the reason they put me in another room really early on-- i'd sleep 4-5 hours at a time from my second week, but made so much noise she couldn't get any rest if i was near her. once we move i think we'll probably give that a shot.

the weirdest aspect of this is that, occasionally, just picking him up and putting him in a new location somehow triggers him to fall back asleep normally. when my dad (aka morning babysitter) is out of town, we sleep in separate rooms and take turns with the baby, and sometimes (not always!) he'll settle down after the transfer. very weird.

The past 4 nights have been bad. She's consistently waking 3 times now. Last night it was 10:30 pm, 2 am, and 5 am. UGH.

I'm sorry Kary. That's frustrating.
