I'm pretty sure we are in the 12 week growth spurt (he will be 13 weeks on Sunday). This morning he wouldn't go back to sleep as he normally does after his 5am feeding. Then starting at 8am he's been eating 5oz every HOUR. But the thing that's throwing me off is this low grade fever he's sporting (99.7-99.9). Is a little fever normal during growth spurts? I'm considering hitting him with a dose of Tylenol if it doesn't break in a few hours.
Avery did that right at 11 weeks. The highest it got was 99.8. I gave her Tylenol twice, more for her crying sounding like she was in pain than the temp. It didn't really do much for it but it was done with the next day.
Also, I am a bit conservative with Tylenol. I never give babies under one any medications. I always use cool wipes and of course the onion in their socks.. Worked great both times dd had fever after her shots.
DD born in September 2011
Baby due in May 2013
I think so long as his fever doesn't go over 100, I'd hold off on the Tylenol. But I can totally see giving it just for his comfort, too. I've never heard of a fever going hand in hand with a growth spurt, but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen! I just never noticed it.
