Hooray for new clothes!

I started going for long walks and it feels good. Like 1 hour walks. Sometimes with Ethan and Kody, and since DH is home right now, sometimes with just Kody. It's nice to know I'm expending some extra calories! Getting a nice tan, too...at least on exposed skin surfaces haha.

I had gained 31lbs this pregnancy. So far I've lost 20 and kinda stalled the last month.

I've got 11 more to go and am using myfitnesspal.com to help me track my food intake/daily calories

I still have the same 5 lbs to lose that I've had since Cadence was about a week old. In some ways I am really happy about it and in other ways I wish it would just go away already.

I'm using that, too! It's pretty awesome. Do you eat back any calories you burn from exercise? I can't decide whether to do that or not. It says you should, but sometimes I burn 600 calories or more in one workout (I wear a heart rate monitor) and that would be an awful lot of extra calories to eat back every day.

Just chiming in to say, if you burn them, and you're hungry, then eat, but if you're not hungry, then let them stay burnt!

Yes. Joy's advice about letting them stay burnt is good as long as you're not breastfeeding. (eat healthy as long as you're not hungry) But if you are breastfeeding, you could be burning wayyyy too many which would hurt your supply and cause your body to stop losing weight no matter how much your caloric deficit is!

This happened to me with my DD/first pregnancy. I was working out and my deficit was too big so once I stopped doing cardio, the weight just slid right off. This didn't happen until about 4 months because I looked AMAZING that summer lol. Right now i'm not moving past 130lbs.. And I'm only at 1800 calories which is perfectly fine for weightloss. I won't go less than that right now because I'm too hungry with anything less.

So Nancy, you're saying your body can be resistant to losing weight if you eat too few calories while breastfeeding? Kinda makes sense, your body wants to hang on to its fat stores because it's worried about starvation!

Yes the lactation consultant told me when I was doing cardio 40 min+bfeeding+calorie tracking and telling her about the weight not coming off that I was probably in starvation mode. She told me not to have too big of a deficit (500-600 a day is good) and said I could eat more just make good choices. Worked like a charm.

I'm not doing any cardio right now but am assuming my body is about to get in that higher loss mode. Bfeeding got me 10lbs under my pre pregnancy weight with my daughter. I hope it does the same this time around! So far my stomach and arms look great by my legs and butt are holding on to that fat like there's no tomorrow.
