I just don't know what to do about Lilah's non napping. She used to sleep for hours in her swing. Now her naps are 10 min long, with maybe 30 min being her max. She wakes up and is happy for about 20 min, but then is miserable because she's tired but won't sleep, and I have to carry her around constantly. If I put her down anywhere, she screams instantly. My 5 year old is away at my parents house for a few nights, but I have absolutely zero time with my 2 year old because I have to constantly hold Lilah. I can't sit down or else she cries. I have to either stand, or walk....for HOURS.

I feel horribly guilty because my 2 year old is so bored. I want to go out and swing her on her swing outside, or do things with her, but I can't. Lilah freaks out in any carrier - Ergo or baby bjorn, she HATES being restrained. We can't go anywhere because Lilah despises her carseat and screams constantly in it. My 2 yr old is watching WAY too much tv lately because honestly, I don't know what to do. I just want to cry.

What about checking with your pediatrician about chamomile tea and see if it's ok to give Lilah some? Maybe that will calm her down enough to let her sleep longer during the day. I'm sorry you're going through this. It's tough enough to deal with a small baby when you have other kids, let alone a really difficult baby. Hugs!

Have you tried napping Lilah in her crib as opposed to the swing? I am finding Lexi naps better in a quiet place now away from the action. If I have her in the Pack n Play which is currently in the living room, she's just too distracted now to sleep.

Nevermind, she just took a 4 hr nap. THAT is normal for her. These short little naps are totally not normal. I moved her crib into her room a few days ago where it's quieter. My other girls are pretty loud, and as a newborn Lilah slept through it all no problem. I'm finding now though that she needs a quieter place. I tried putting her in her crib today after I had got her to sleep in my arms, and she woke RIGHT up. She took her long nap in the swing today.

I'm so glad she took a long nap for you so you could have a break! I'm finding Kody is more of a light sleeper now too than he was. He used to be able to sleep through a lot, but now he will wake up. Dang it!

Avery was always a light sleeper. Of all the things to inherent from me she had to pick that one. I don't even try to lay her in the living room anymore. She only sleeps in her crib in her room.

I got a 90 minute nap out of Claire yesterday and I was THRILLED. Lately she's been catnapping like a pro...20 or 30 minutes tops. It's exhausting.

She's sleeping really well at night, though, so I guess I can't really complain!

Lexi is all over the place. Some days it's catnaps, other days it's 2-3 hr marathons. I know I can count on a morning nap which starts at 10:00 am. I would love to get a set afternoon schedule as well! She does nap at some point in the afternoon, but the times vary widely. Sometimes she overlaps with my older son, which is awesome, and other times she doesn't.
