He's going 6 hours north to work for 2 weeks starting the week after next. I'm honestly scared. I told him the only way he could go is if my MIL comes and stays with me for those 2 weeks, so she is (I'd rather my mom, but she works a ton so she can't.) That said, I'm on my own in the night since I'm not about to go wake her up to help me. What if my 5 year old wakes up throwing up? And then Lilah needs me too? Or if 2 of my girls are sick at the same time? And then what if I get it too????? I'm so scared. I'm scared to try to handle 3 on my own at night when Lilah doesn't sleep through (or even well most nights) and my 5 year old is bringing home constant viruses and germs. I'm praying everyone stays healthy, but I bet we won't. It's probably ridiculous how uneasy I am about him going away and me being on my own at night like that. NOT looking forward to this. I'm going to be a zombie.

You'll be fine! MIL can do weeknights and mom can do weekends? Plus, you will surprise yourself with how much you can handle. And since you will be so busy, the two weeks will fly by.

He'll be home on the weekends, so it's just during the week that he'll be gone. I hope I can handle it. Last night Lilah woke up TWICE for a bottle, then she was up again at 5:45am so DH tried another bottle and put her back down. On top of that, my 2 yr old is dealing with a bad chest cold, so she was up crying with a fever - I had to give her medicine and rock her a bit. My 5 year old was up to pee, I have to go with her because she's too scared to go alone. Even with DH home I barely got any sleep - so with him gone I'll be up all night, night after night if my girls continue this not sleeping streak they're on.

I'm sorry you have to be by yourself. 3 is a lot to deal with--two is enough for me with one that wakes a zillion times a night. I hope it goes OK and with your MIL there, maybe you can nap during the day? Hopefully the 2 weeks will go by fast!

My husband travels like that on a very regular basis. Its not fun but you will start to get your own routine going. I constantly feel like I'm on survival mode when I'm left on my own but somehow we manage every time. The extra set of hands will be helpful so don't be afraid to ask her for help. Thats what she's there for!

You can do it! My hubby used to travel for Monday thru Friday, and we had 8 kids to school, 3 cows, 5 bottlefed calves, 3 pigs, and 25 chickens. I never had help, and survived. You will be surprised at ways you will grow as a Mama! I have faith in you!
