Hi all! I'm "new". I did read a lot of posts on here while I was pregnant and I am looking to getting back into it, but also be more active as far as chatting and posting I hope I am welcome!
Here's my story in a nutshell:
I'm Karen,26 not married but my Boyfriend and I have been steadily together for 5.5 years. We welcomed our precious little Cicely on May 12, 2013. I had been having some high blood pressure towards the end of my pregnancy and was on bedrest for a few weeks. I had and emergency c section bc her heart rate dropped and didn't get better. It is all kind of a blur bc it happened so fast... But basically the placenta had detached 60% and she lost a ton of blood. She had two blood transfusions and was in the NICU for three nights. They even considered giving me a blood transfusion because I lost a lot as well. She also received two lacerations during my c section they cut her, twice... But now she is a healthy, happy light of my life, little 6 month old!
Sorry for the ramble session, but I figured I'd catch everyone up to date on us.
Also I have no idea what all the little abbreviations mean so bare with me, I will learn.
^^We had a little boy in Kierans playroom who had a pretty big laceration from his c-section as well. Often, in emergency situations, they don't have time to check baby's position and they are usually moving quicker.
But, HI! And welcome. We love new members. We aren't a big group, but we have a loyal following and quite a few nice ladies in here Jump right in!
And I LOVE the name Cicily. It is on our list for our next baby, if it's a girl.
Yes, I had never heard of it happening before but I'm sure we aren't the only ones. I was pretty sad / upset about it but they had to get her out. I remind myself; two little scars or no baby? I choose little scars as I'm sure most would!
