When Ani was 4 she begged to have her ears pierced. I let her get them done and she still loves wearing earrings and changing them (she has about 50 pairs - all her's since I don't wear earrings). She was really good when we had them done doing the cleaning and turning as much by herself as she could.

we weren't allowed to get our ears pierced until we were ten (me and my 3 sisters) so I probably won't let Paige get hers done until around then either. I got a really bad infection, even though I was cleaning them and turning them, and I remember it hurting so bad, I don't want Paige to go through that.

Me theory is the same as my mom had with me and my sister. If they are old enough to ask to have their ears pierced, then they are old enough to have them pierced. That's what I am going to do with Isabel. If she asks to have them pierced, we'll do it. If not, then we won't. I am leaving it up to her.

Madi asked when she was 6 and I allowed it. She's always taken good care of them so we've had no problems aside from losing earrings.

Dh won't let me get them pierced. He's probably afraid I'll make her look like my ears!! (I have alot in the ears) ONe time she was watching me clean and change my earrings, and I was telling her the 2 ways they can pierce. I think I scared the idea out of her!!

My mom got my oldests done when she turned 3 - it was her birthday present from grandma. With my youngest we're doing it this summer when she turns 1. Lindsey had a rough time letting us clean them for the first week so we want to do Katelyn's while she is still young enough that we can clean them easily. I should point out that Lindsey doesn't like me to brush her hair either so it wasn't really the earrings she was objecting to....she just tends to be more spice than sugar.

The reason we're doing it young is that when I was 7 I asked to do it and my parents said no. Well by the time they let me (10 I think) I was so needle phobic that I still don't have my ears pierced.

I had my twins done at 5 months and Jenna done at 3 months. To me its easier when they are ababies, they dont tug on them , my babies barely cried when they had them done. We have never had any kind of infection or anything. We change them every once in a while.

I got El'lyssa's done when she was 3 months. I will get Iyona's done around the same time also. I like the idea of doing it young that way they don't really remember getting it done a couple of minutes afterward.
