If you could teach your child/ren another language regardless of difficulty, which would you like them to learn? Why?

American Sign Language. I plan on teaching Kennedi. The deaf population around Roc City is through the roof.

Spanish because it would probably what they would most likely need to know living in the US.

Dutch.. DH is from the Netherlands so speaks fluently, and some of the elders in his family don't know English.

Spanish... I think it would be the most logical choice since we have such a large latino population in Chicago. I would also love for them to learn sign language... I am fluent, my parents had me in classes so I could communicate with my deaf aunt. My kids know basic signs, but I'd like for them to be able to actually conversate with her as they get older!

My mother bashes me for not teaching my girls Spanish But I would love for them to learn sign language...and Chinese or Japanese. I think the Chinese or Japanese people will be very powerful in the future! They already cater to our every need!

Greek or ASL...

My father in law already talks to her in Greek, and we use various words around the house for common objects... but I think it would be great for her to be able to call her Great-Grandma in Greece & carry on a conversation!!!

And ASL... we've been doing signs with her since she was small... and she already knows over a dozen signs... but I would love to see that expanded- what a powerful tool! awesomeness!
