It's about my vacation in 3 weeks and I don't know what to do.

Option #1:
Go to Ocean City with Alexis, DH, his mom, his brother, his brothers wife, and his sister. Stay in a suite at the Hilton but have to sleep on a pull out couch and Alexis will be on an air mattress. BIL and his wife live in Arizona. BIL's wife has never met Alexis. BIL and his wife will arrive in MD on Saturday and we will all be in OC from Sunday - Friday. And BIL and his wife leave MD a week AFTER Ocean City. Alexis and I see MIL and SIL 5-6 days a week.

Option #2:
My mom has offered to fly me and Alexis to Florida to stay with my sister for the same time frame as Ocean City. My sister needs help unpacking and getting settled before starting school but we would also do some fun things and maybe hit Disney for a day. The catch is that I have only flown once in my life and I was like 2 years old. I have no clue about flying, how to get to the plane, etc etc.

What are your opinions?

Hmmm... what would you rather do? Other than the flying thing? Do you have fun with your BIL, SIL... Do you like sharing a hotel room like that?

Flying isn't a big deal. I don't especially like it. But, it's okay. You check in (usually have to show your license/passport - keep that handy because you'll need it again). You check your bags in - be prepared to pay for them - depends on the airline and how many/heavy your bags are. Then you go through the security checkpoint. They want to see your ticket and license. You have to put EVERYTHING on that belt scanner, including your shoes and then you walk through. After that you just go to your gate and sit down. Or eat. Or shop. Or whatever.

They will call you by rows and you get on, put your carry on under the seat in front of you or above you in the storage. Sit down, get buckled. Have a good flight

Going to Disney is always fun. And I never feel quite comfortable with my in-laws then I do with my own family. But, I don't especially like spending time with my family either

I barely know BIL and his wife. I know BIL enough to not particularly like him. I feel like we are battling for the alpha spot or something. Then again... he's a cop and he's got that classic cop attitude. They don't have any kids and they are 10 years older than us. MIL and I only get along since Alexis was born.

I am less than thrilled with the hotel arrangement.

Obviously the Ocean City plan was not my idea.

Then it sounds like you should go with #2.

All things considered, I'd choose option 2 as well in your position.

In your position I'd consider option 2. Ocean City isn't too kid friendly (especially for such a young child like Alexis) since it's basically all casinos and beaches. FL would definitely be more fun (considering your relationship with BIL/SIL) even if you do have to help unpack... just do it realllllly FAST and then hit the beaches and Disney!! I promise it'll be FUN! And the whole airport thing like Talia said... isn't too bad...

The Ocean City we are going to is in Maryland, not New Jersey.

I would choose #2.

Flying isnt that bad, I would be ready to get to the airport plenty early, but all of the airport staff is VERY helpful and you will have no problems!
