Omg.. please help... They send me a form for the H1N1 shot..A permission slip for it. I am soo confused cause they are giving the shot and the mist, so i was so convinced that i was not going to get it for them. But now i dont know what to do cause if there are kids that get the mist then i am scared with her next to them.. I called my dh and he said "Just let them give it to her" I told him that i dont want to...So I called my doctor and i am waiting for him to call me back.. But my dh will not let me keep her out of school, so if i dont give it to her she is still gonna be around the other kids...Please Help!!!!!!!

Ugh, that's so tough, does he understand why you want to keep her out of school? Like, does he know a lot about the mist?.. Here, a lot of people are pulling their kids out of school to try and avoid h1n1, just as a precaution, and they aren't even giving it in our schools here.. I hope you can figure something out!

I doubt she'd be sitting next to someone as they get the mist shot.. so I don't think you'd have to worry about it.
I'd try talking to your DH about keeping her home if you feel that strongly about it though.

Aaron's school did the same thing. I did not sign the slip and Aaron did not get vaccinated but other kids did. They did both the mist and the shot at his school. He didn't get sick from being around the kids with the mist. I think Ava will be fine!

Kristin wrote something about the mist being shed for about 4 days after receiving that H1N1 mist...so, I would keep Caliah away for a few days. Not all of us homeschool, so a lot of us face this dilemma. I hope you are able to do what you are comfortable with Laurie!

Time to homeschool! I'm sorry, Laurie. I think you saw my post about the babysitting girl and the flu mist...it can shed for up to two weeks, so I would NOT opt for the mist if you decide to let her have the vaccine. You don't want her to come home and shed the virus (and it is airborne) to Zoey and Nevaeh. Hopefully she won't pick it up from another misted kid at school.
Big hugs to you. I'm sorry you (and so many parents) have to make this decision.

Oh Kristin, Ava would probally rather have the swine flu then have me homeschool her.. I have a hard time doing her homework with her..NO, ZERO, patience....I am still thinking about it.. But I have her doctor calling me tommorow, he himself told me that he would wait on the swine vax and see how the outcome of it is..So i am going to ask his advice again.. I WILL not give her the mist, so unfortunately IF i did decide to do it, i would do the shot.. But its soooo not for sure yet..This whole thing makes me soo scared...

Personally, I wouldn't give my kids the shot or the mist even if it's being offered in school. I probably wouldn't keep them home either. They'll be exposed somewhere. I'd rather have them exposed then get the vaccines.

I HATE when schools decide what you have to vac your kids for and not.
Just like the chicken pox Breana still hasn't gotten it and won't until she HAS to. I don't agree but I can't afford to home school.
I hope you can make a decision soon.
What I don't understand is that wine flu has been around since the 60's and only 4000 people died from it and that is like.00004 of the US population.
