ugh, the mornings in this house have become unbearable.
Kyla is so difficult every morning. first she wont eat breakfast, then its a fight to get her dressed. sometimes 4 outfits later she still wont decide what to wear. then brushing teeth is the next fight. hair brushing usually ends it off.
then we finally get her in the car, and as we drive out she forces herself out of the car seat. so we have to stop the car. and start again.

but now she is throwing a major tantrum.

this has been our morning for 3 mornings in a row. DH and i start our days fighting her on everything. why is she so resistant to everything.
she is only 3 1/2, what is it gonna be like when she is 16!

anybody else go through this?

I've never really had them fight me that bad on those things, but on other thongs they have. The biggest thing is consistency, she's just pushing to fond out where her boundaries are (or at least that's what it was with my kids). Just remember, it will pass!

Yes to a point. My daughter will not eat her breakfast before I take her to preschool. I still give her something; but, I'm not going to stress about it. Kayley is picky about what she wears and I am often putting back what I have picked her because she doesn't want to wear it. I feel like I am constantly nagging "Mommy has to fix your hair, come here please." I am beginning to sound like a broken record (Some days I am saying this up to 6 times!) Luckily, she saves her tantrums for AFTER preschool. I am just trying to pick my battles, if you know what I mean. Talk about high maintanence, lol!!

today we had swimming. and she decided she didnt like the costume i packed so refused to swim.
she is so defiant on everything pertaining to clothes.

even her teachers say they have never met another child as obsessed with clothes. she would rather have a new dress then a toy.

what is she gonna be like as a teen.

hopefully it is just a stage.

and i wanted to add, DH and i are starting a star/reward chart. it is the only thing we havent tried. hold thumbs this works please

I hope it works!

Is she better if you give her options? Like, "what outfit would you like to where from these 3?"

nope, i have tried options, and it didnt work at all.

today she had to stay home, she was up all night vomiting.
and this morning she was an angel. we started the reward chart and she is really into it.
maybe this will be our thing that does help.

I think it's just a phase, but I won't let it get that far as changing 4 different outfits. If she were to do that I would lay out her clothes and no discussion possible. But maybe I'm strict like that. But all kids go through a phase where it's fun to go against anything mommy/daddy/ etc says!
