Most of us start out with multiple ideas about who we are, and what we want to do or achieve in our lives.

Many people believe that the cumulative effect or the sum total of these is their life purpose. In trying to achieve all the different goals they set themselves, they may feel overwhelmed, lost, confused, frustrated, and very short of time. Especially at the current time when energies are shifting and many feel like time is racing even faster than normal.

Archangel Gabriel calls on you now to sharpen your focus.

Yes, you may have a number of gifts, talents and interests. More than one of them may feed into your life purpose. But this constant pressure to do more and be more is of human making, and can lead to so much stress and anxiety it becomes completely counterproductive.

Your true purpose should unfold flowingly and with joy. It should make your heart sing.

It may feature in your job of work, or it may be that you do a job of work simply to make enough money to live, and your purpose unfolds more in nurturing your family or through a creative interest.

The key is not to have your finger in too many pies at once, and it's that simple. Two pies is enough for anyone at any one time, because don't forget you also have mundane chores to do as does everyone, before the higher stuff can be prioritised, and you must also have enough time to rest and recharge. Those two pies usually boil down to your job (including homemaking) and one hobby at any one time.

Remember:
- You have your whole life to find out and fulfil your purpose. It's not a race, it's a marathon.
- You can change your job and/or your hobby at any time. In fact, it is healthy to do so if your previous one is no longer serving you or joyful to you.
- You must follow your heart and your gut in order to find the right step on your path at any one time. Following pound/dollar signs OVER your heart and gut often leads to boredom, frustration or burnout.

The angels do leave us signposts and guiding lights along the way. They often try to show us the best next step by:
- Making a particular path seem more exciting
- Prompting friends or colleagues to give us recommendations
- Having you see an advertisement repeatedly or a TV show at a synchronistic time which relates to a decision
- Giving us premonitions or visualisations in our dreams
- Providing "lucky breaks", especially after a run of bad luck
- Setting up a coincidental meeting with someone our paths have already crossed with along the way - "it's a small world" syndrome
- Drawing our attention to a lucky sign or symbol for us in a place or on a website where we're meant to be - rainbows, animal totems, horseshoes, lucky numbers, etc can appear in logos, coats of arms and emblems

Archangel Gabriel reminds us all that it is ok to not know what your life purpose is, as long as you follow what brings joy to your life. Some people don't find out until long after their working life. For many, the journey is the most important thing, the part that leads to soul growth. And worrying about whether you'll achieve your purpose is a waste of energy. People did not worry about such things historically, when survival was more prevalent in the human psyche: and yet there have been great books, inventions and discoveries.

What is meant, will be.

Let go of the need to identify and pinpoint your purpose. Instead, try to sharpen your focus onto what fills you with positive emotions - joy, pride, gratitude, excitement, enthusiasm - in the now. Remember you are aiming for two pies! One job and one hobby.

Start an angel journal in a book, word file or online. Jot down any signs, pointers and confirmations you receive about the best activities for you right now.

Share your findings or musings about this here.
