This is happening this week for us, lol.

Seriously, what is the MOST that must be expected in terms of tidiness around the house for the appraiser? The person doing the loan stuff said just to push all the kid things to the sides, clear some clutter and otherwise do regular cleaning. My Mom is saying "Spotless, like a magazine picture".

Who has gone through this recently? Should i repaint the walls with scuff marks on them (dang strollers/chairs!)?

Our house was a disaster when we had it appraised last year. It was in the middle of tax season so I was working crazy hours and not cleaning. DH also forgot to tell me when the appraiser was coming. We had dirty dishes in the sink, beds unmade, toys out in the family room. Awful. It was fine though. They are supposed to look at the features of the home not the stuff you have.

You should be fine. They will look for things like holes in the wall. They will not look at dust on the tables.

we have a lot of DIY projects going on right now, namely the bathroom that we've gutted. DH is working hard to get the bathroom as finished as possible and my job is to tidy up as much as possible and identify spots that need touch ups and repair (like our recliner left dings in our dry wall that need to be patched. We tossed the recliner).

I called around to family today to see if anyone would watch Alex for us for a few hours but no one is willing. They *can* watch him but they don't want to. Thanks family.
