Anyone been trying to book appointments yet?

I was super excited that this OB took me on shes great and funny and smart and delivered by daughter when I came into the ER screaming and gave birth 9 minutes later...

So I called today to say hey Im pregnant I need an appointment. And I got the first available one... December 11th... I will be 15-16 weeks already.

Apparently I have to go to my GP for the req for my dating us and the one for the IPS ultrasound and blood work at 12 weeks.

I will have to call them back because I need a referal for a level 2 and fetal echo cardiogram because of my genetic issue at 18 weeks... and if they try to book it when I am 15 weeks there wont be any space left at the right timeframe.

Why do I feel so bummed?

I hear you. Normally because I am low risk and non-interventionist, I wouldn't even try to get in until 12 weeks or so, but a MONTH ago I called to get an appointment to talk about Metformin for my PCOS and the one today was the first available. When I found out I was pregnant I for sure wasn't canceling after that wait!

Is there a list you can get on if anyone cancels?

I will have to ask. I am waiting to heat back from my GPs office on his appointments. Thankfully the OB gave me a script for anti nausea meds in August when I saw her.

My first appt wouldn't normally be until 12 weeks either with my midwife, but I went to my doctor to request an 8 week u/s to check on the baby, simply out of curiosity, and she set it up no problem for me. She has also already done some routine bloodwork, and set up the 12 week bloodwork as well. I'm going to see her today because I'm having some pain in my right side, so she'll probably end up sending me for an u/s this week, hopefully tomorrow. She's an awesome doctor - I see her until 12 weeks when I transfer care to the midwives/

I don't blame you, I would be bummed too. Seems so far away!

I was actually seen this morning, but it was with a nurse. I have my first appointment with midwife in my 6th week.

I just scheduled my first appointment for October 15th. My office routinely schedules the first appointment around the 7 week mark. They do an ultrasound as well as the usual first appointment stuff. Three whole weeks away!!!

I was wondering when to call and make my appt. I'm only 3 weeks 3 days and when I went with my son they do t do first Appts until 10 weeks....I thought about waiting until closer to that time but reading all your comments maybe I should go ahead and call and make the appt?

I would call and ask, you never know.
I called this past Friday, and they had me come in today! Was just with the nurse, but still exciting!

My office is very busy. For annual exams they schedule at least a month out. I figured the sooner I call the better.

I stopped in for blood work today. I saw my doctor around 7 weeks with my last pregnancy and they did an ultrasound and got the heartbeat. I am anxious to get my blood test results and all that..and then schedule my appointment. I always feel sooo much better when I get that heartbeat count! 3 weeks!

I waited to book my appointment with my GP until I think I am 7-8 weeks because I wanted to make sure I am far enough to see heart beat and such

My OB doesn't see you until 7 weeks but since we got pregnant with a fertility specialist we will be going weekly to him until week 9 then get switched over to regular OB. My first visit was today for a blood confirmation (HCG level 56 at 13 DPO) and I go again on monday for another level check.

I just found out I'm pregnant! So excited! I take tour of the birthing center next week, won't know when I can schedule first appt until after that.
