We haven't announced this pregnancy yet and don't plan to until the 2nd trimester. It was such a joyous and fun announcement for our first two pregnancies. I just feel like EVERYONE thinks that since we have two, we are done. No one even asks, just assumes. It's not like we are deadbeats. We have been married 8 years, are professionals, are employed and I believe we are good parents.

Today, my MIL handed me a box of my maternity clothes (my SIL borrowed them during her pregnancy), and said 'you won't be needing these anymore.'. WHAT?!?!

We are not telling the inlaws for that very reason. After we lost the twins FIL actually had the nerve to tell DH to go get fixed. I was beyond pissed!

LOL
Try 8
The last time I talked to my mom, she was going to watch Natalie over night for us and she said "maybe you should take her if it will prevent you from getting pregnant".

My dh says we aren't going to tell anyone until the baby is already here. That way there can't be any negative comments.

Wow Lynn, that makes my blood boil that they said that to you

Rebecca, I love that idea. It wouldn't work for my in-laws though because I see them all the time and I get as big as a hippo during pregnancy!! But I can only imagine what sort of comments you get with 8.

I am scared too. I am 24, so I am young and this is my 3rd pregnancy.. but my husband is in his mid-30's and even still my MIL was like.. "Wow, Alex.. going a little bit fast aren't we? Like a factory"! My mom was kind of like... "okay...." It is disheartening for sure!

I'm feeling the same way! After we had our girl and boy everyone just assumed we are done and aren't allowed to have anymore!! Its annoying.

I'm the opposite - our son is 2 1/2 and we get "time for another one!" "whats the wait about? i thought you so enjoyed him as a baby" and the rudest comments ever. We had problems conceiving another and had to visit a fertility specialist so if the comments stop after 2 and we can have number 3 on our own time and without all the badgering I cannot wait!

I am sorry you feel that way though...

I'm so sorry she said that! That is seriously nuts, and really presumptuous of her. And honestly, none of her business!! I just wish people could learn to keep their mouths shut.

You might be surprised with everyone's reaction with the awesome news! I was anxious to the point of throwing up when I told the news to my mother. When I got married, she asked "you aren't going to have any more children, are you?" However; when I told her, she asked if I was happy and then we talked for 45 minutes about it, wishing me an easy pregnancy. I don't have that close "tell everything to your mom" relationship.
I only hope you have a positive reaction from friends and family!!!
