I had it this AM
I had a previous appointment with the nurse and what not, but this was my first one with the midwife. I had already met her last pregnancy (before I miscarried) and knew I loved her and the office.

Not much was done. The usual.. pee in a cup, weight, blood pressure.
But it was still nice, makes it feel a lot more real.

I'm only getting one ultrasound- so until we can hear the baby via doppler, it's a bit scary not knowing what's going on in there. But... not much I can do about that.

Anyone else only getting one ultrasound, mid way through?

Me, hopefully. Last time we only wanted one, but the midwives had trouble determining her position because my abdominal muscles were so tense (I had a job that was WAAAAAY too physically demanding and I couldn't relax) and they thought she was breech at 35 weeks. She was. Then I went in for moxibustion with the acupuncturist and they thought she had flipped again, but still couldn't feel for sure. Another u/s confirmed she had. THEN since I went over 41 weeks I had to have a BPP, which was an hour and a half laying on my back not being able to breathe.

Please let this pregnancy be normal! No extra ultrasounds!

Glad you had a good appointment! I think I might only have one U/S around the middle of the pregnancy, thats what it would normally be. Have to see what my doc says this time.

Fingers crossed that you only have one!
I just know a lot of offices do dating ones and what not, and get to see the heartbeat around week 6 or so. So it's kinda like you live in limbo for awhile, when you don't get one, and just hoping all is good in there.

I am new to this whole thing, so forgive me if this is a dumb question... Why would you only have one?

Just what my midwife/office offers, unless you get the 12 week NT scan (optional). They don't see the need to do any others

We will probably only have two, if that. Midwife only does one at 20 weeks.

They did 2 with me first time round...one at about 3months and the other at 5 [gender scan]
My parents also treated me to 4D ultra-sounds towards the end of my pregnancy...I honestly didn't really want to get those done....but it was pretty cool to see the baby so clear...a little weird idk why...but it was an unforgettable experience!

I can't wait for my first real appointment! 2 more weeks... I'm so impatient!

I'm the opposite of most of you. I will have many ultrasounds. With my last pregnancy I had one at every OB appointment plus a 4D one that I paid extra for at around 21 weeks.
