39 weeks is the earliest my Dr schedules. I'm not sure though whether I'll be having a repeat cs yet.

I've heard that some docs actually do it at 37 or 38 weeks

I know a lot of hospitals in the states unless it is a medical emergency can not schedule a c/s before the 39th week of pregnancy. Many babies were found to be more premature than orginally thought so many hospitals have issued bans on scheduled c/s or induction before 39 weeks. It's a good thing in my opinion.

I won't let my dr schedule mine before 39 weeks unless it is absolutely necessary.

39 weeks is a good safe time I find it so bizarre when I hear that docs performed scheduled cs for no apparent reason at 37/38 weeks

Thats really good to know. I will be a scheduled c/s this time (DD2 was an emergency c/s that went badly leaving me no option of a vbac) and I had no idea what the standard for it is. I have never made it past 36 weeks though.... this will be interesting.
