I thought it would be nice for us to share some amazing moments in our lives, things we consider miracles/mega-blessings. It can be about anything - Babies, family, career, etc.

For me personally at this point, I'd have to say my nephew. My sister had preeclampsia that became very severe. She ballooned up over 250lbs (when she started out at about 150), her face looked like someone had puffed out her cheeks with an air pump, and her legs were huge. She went into labor at 29 weeks and they were able to stop it with medication, but only for about a week. They were able to get two rounds of steroids in her to help develop my nephew's lungs, but then they had to do a c-section because my sister's blood pressure shot up and she very easily could have a stroke. So my nephew was born 2lbs, 1oz. He was see through. The tiniest hands I'd ever seen (I was 18 at the time), but the strongest grip. We were allowed to see him and I remember him grabbing my finger with such strength that I couldn't imagine something so small being so strong. Anyway, the rest is history. He made it out of the NICU and my sister did fine as well. He's a rowdy 8 year old now and is perfectly healthy.

I have a few, we were told we would never have a child without IVF so getting pregnant on our own with no medical assistance was pretty amazing.

My husband had a stroke when Daniel was 9 months old it was the worst day of my life, worrying about him and worrying about my 10 month old baby at home, I left him with my mum and she had to go to work, so for about an hour I actually had no idea where he was, hubby got transferred to a different hospital 40 mins away from out home town and they wouldn't let me travel with him, so u had no idea if he had actually survived the journey, at this point we didn't know it was a stroke, he was taken for a scan and then u was told he had 2 hours to live if he didn't have an operation but was only given a 50% chance of surviving the operation, I wa told he would be in theatre for 30 mins and was down there for 3 hours!!!

Went straight to the icu and stayed there for 3 days, after 6 weeks in hospital he came home and with lots if therapy and help from family and friends we got through it.

3 years later today to look at him you can't even tell anything happened to him. I am not a big believer in god but that day I prayed and I believe someone was watching over us

Great topic starter!

I think miracles are everywhere and have been lucky to see so many in my life- My mom receiving a life saving kidney transplant when on paper she should have never been able to. My kids open and loving spirit, after being betrayed by people they trust, and the miracle of timing. There are countless number of times in my life where I felt overwhelmed, hopeless, and things just fell into place. I know that those moments are nothing short of miracles.

Honestly, before I met my SO, I dated jerk after jerk after jerk after divorcing a jerk, so I was about to give up on ever being happy. Then, what started as a co-worker chit chat as friends every now and then turned into the most amazing relationship I've ever been in. Now I know what a real relationship is supposed to be. He is so patient and kind and wonderful. He is my miracle

I feel amazingly lucky to have gotten pregnant twice now after losing a fallopian tube. It took over a year with one early loss to get pregnant with my ectopic pregnancy, but since then I seem to fall pregnant MORE easily/quickly even though my fertility is obviously reduced. Part of it may be that I educated myself about ovulation and BD timing and started using OPKs, but nonetheless remarkable.

My brother is a miracle. My mom was in a rollover car accident while pregnant with him and it.put her into labor...they stuck her on bed rest and meds to keep her from having him and they got 4 more weeks. My mom finally had him at 26 and a half weeks.... this is bad even now...this was back in 1986. Luckily he was already a chunk at 26 weeks and weighed 2 pounds. Drs all werent sure if he would survive...he also had a grade 3 hydocephalous....which is water on the brain...grade 3 usually causes some form of mental retardation. I wasnt even allowed to see him right away but i got to see him a month later....when i got to hold him he was still so small he fit snugly into my two 7year old hands....i was also the one whos finger he first held...and the one he first smiled at...(i had lost another brother a few years prior to this so i desperately wanted a brother) and in that moment...when he held my finger and smiled and i seen such strength in his deep brown eyes i knew that he was for me. He was MY brother. Well now hes 26 and smart as a whip...and he and i are so close....Growing up he wouldnt listen to my mom...only me lol. My mom quit trying to keep us in seperate bedrooms as kids as one would sleepwalk into the others room....we would talk in our sleep with each other. My mom says it really was like my bro was meant for me not her....she got her mamas boy 4 years later.

My marriage is a miracle. We've had so many of the issues that break up other couples, but we've been married 17 years (together 19) and we are still madly in love.

Our oldest was born 15 weeks early weighing 1lb, 10 oz. At a week old he weighed 1lb, 4 oz and we were told he only had a 10% chance of surviving (this was back in '95). Not only has he survived, he has done amazingly well with NONE of the permanent disabilities or health problems the doctors told us he would surely face as a result of his prematurity and all the medications and exposure. After he came home from NICU at 12 weeks old, he has never once been hospitalized and never once had any major illness.

More recently, and this is kind of a "minor" miracle... I hit a deer on the way home from work one night. I couldn't believe it, but there was NO damage to my little car at all. A few years ago we hit a deer in our suburban and it did $3k worth of damage. There is no way I could afford to fix or replace my car, we don't have full coverage on it, and I have to have it to get to work. So while I felt bad about the damage to the poor doe, I was VERY thankful my car was essentially untouched. There's really no explanation as to how that happened.
