I'm sooooooooooooooooo sleepy. Did you all cut caffeine out completely? I'm usually not a caffeine user, but I'm so freakin' tired and it's only 3rd period! The coke machine is calling my name..

the only thing I've been drinking is my sweet tea. but I stopped making it at home and only drink it when I'm out. I'll have it maybe 3 or 4 days out of the week once in the day.

I'm lucky enough that I've got an aversion to coffee now. I have a pepsi about twice a week now, though, because I'm craving it. I was exhausted after stopping the coffee, but I didn't know if it was the pregnancy or the coffee. haha.

I can't cut it completely. My headaches would be the death of me.

First, I am so freakin' happy for you!!!

My doc told me I didn't have to eliminate caffeine completely, but asked me to keep it to one cup of coffee a day. I think the general consensus (did I even spell that right?) is that 400mg per day or less is harmless. Some people are more sensitive to caffeine than others, and make sure you're also drinking lots of water (enough to keep your pee nearly clear).

I went decaf on sweet tea and I have an aversion to coffee. But due to my migraines, I need at least a small amount of caffeine every day, so I have about 12oz of coke a day (1 can)

I drink a diet soda a day. I wish it helped me wake up, but it doesn't. It's just the only diet stuff to drink when I'm out.

Yeah the evidence for caffeine being a risk factor for m/c was only for the highest category of caffeine intake, 3+ cups a day. I think cutting it out completely if you are a habitual caffeinator is not necessary, but just keep it to one cup or soda a day to be safe.

I am not a big caffeine drinker anyway so I don't change anything. I have a root beer or dr pepper or green tea when I feel like it which is not often.

Thanks for the input guys! Since you are all about a month ahead of me, you'll probably have amazingly fresh, yet veteran, answers to all my questions. Haha.

@Shen7, luckily there is not usually caffeine in root beer!

I have not cut out caffeine out completely...at all really. I havent been liking coffee too much lately, but my dr. pepper is my best friend most days.

So if this baby comes out crazy and hyper and caffeine dependent, I only have myself to blame!

I dont drink much caffeine to begin with, just the occasional Coke when my son is exhausting to me. I do try to not drink it during my pregnancies but ever now and than I give up as I need it so bad. I dont think once in a while is a big deal, everything in moderation I say.

The only caffeine I ever have is the occasional pop. The problem is I crave it when pregnant. I think its because it helps with the headaches.
