Anyone?
I am so tired of puking. They gave me zofran but the stupid pharmacy filled it generic, which means I have to drink something with it. Well it does no good if you puke it up. So last week, they gave me a new script and told me they would mark non generic. Not only is it generic, it's 4g instead of 8g so I didn't even bother to fill it.
I had to do a 24hr urine and it was only 400 despite me trying to drink tons. I have an appt Thursday and the doctor before was talking about admitting me (hard to control blood sugars when you're puking). I just want to crawl under a rock and not move. I've never had. ms this bad.

I can't keep it down. Zofran is stronger, but only the non generic melts without water.

So sorry to hear this. My coworker's daughter had hypermesis gravidum. She was in and out of the hospital her entire pregnancy and was eventually put on a pump at home that gave her meds throughout the day.

I really hope you don't have to go through that.

Wishing you luck and immediate relief!

Hey - I am popping in from the April DDC

I had very mild H/G in the first trimester, suprised they even called it that because I wasn't consistenly puking but I was consistently nauseous, losing weight, not eating, etc. I got fluids twice and around 13 weeks started feeling better.

If the pills were filled as 4mg, you could take 2 - if you can stomach them. If not, you have other options - call your doctor. If Zofran works for you they do make a tablet that dissolves in your mouth.

Zofran didn't do much for me so I was switched to Phenergan and I feel it worked much better than Zofran. I have weaned down a lot but still take it before bed every night (too afraid to stop!)

They also make Phenergan suppositories if you can't keep them down.

There are also other meds like Reglan you can try as well, depending on your doctors thoughts & feelings about your H/G.

Sometimes too - Zofran works better when combined with other meds like Unisom and B6.

If all else fails they do have a Zofran Pump, Phenergan Pump and/or Reglan Pump.

If you feel your doctor isn't being supportive, try contacting a Specialist.

Best of luck & I hope it clears up for you soon!

Thank you.
I haven't actually seen MY doctor yet. I see a perinatologist and he knows me pretty well. He's just been delivering babies everytime I've been there. I've actually gained a pound back so I'm only -4lb from where I started. I've never been this sick before.

Yep. Last time I was there, they were remodeling. Kinda funny when you realize they have only been open for 5yrs. How many doctors are there now? I used to know all of them but I haven't seen anyone I know except the receptionist.

Hello, I am also from the April DDC.
I think I was 7 weeks when the whole HG started for me. I don't know how much weight I have lost. I am still 2-3 lbs under my pre-pregnancy weight. I tried Emetrol (over the counter), Benadryl, Phenergan suppositories and none of them worked. My insurance helped me get some home healthcare, with that came 2 IV treatments and a Zofran pump. The first week was very rough because they started me really low and they can go up on your dose so much in a 24 hr period. Anyways, I am going to be 17 weeks tomorrow. They started weaning me from the pump last week. The pill I was taking before the pump was Zofran 8mg. Zofran pills can give you REAL bad constipation though. The pump is much better with that. I am hoping to keep the pump at least a couple more days as I do not want to go back on the pill to avoid the side effects.
I know, is really hard being sick all the time. I pray you find the right medicines to help you during this time.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.
The home healthcare I am receiving is Alere.

Not sure if someone has mentioned this already, but there are generic forms of Zofran that do melt without water, as well as a gel that you can rub on your wrist. You may just have to get very specific with your doctor for them to write the correct script.

I'm doing better. I have to make sure to take the meds every 8hrs.. I only puked twice yesterday. My doctor says, as long as I'm not getting dehydrated or spilling ketones, he won't hospitalize me. I kept down a peppermint shake the other day, so I'm thinking candycanes are needed
Any ms I had with my other kids was gone by 16 weeks, so I'm hoping it goes away by Christmas.
